It’s right around the corner now. Seven days and counting baby!!! The Jets are going to be scouring the waiver wire for final additions and then it starts. The road to Tampa!!! We’re all looking for the story book ending this year, and Week 1 is the time before the reality sets in. At least we can have Super Dreams!
Right now wives across America are trying to get in some last minute house projects, movie nights, and weekend trips because us football fanatics go from 7 days of availability per week down to approximatley 3. Fantasy football drafts are coming to [...]

Jets vs. Eagles Highlights
The Jets officially released Jesse Chatman last night in a move that cements Leon Washington and Thomas Jones as 2008’s dynamic duo. Chatman did a great job this preseason and should definitely land a job with someone like Detroit. This provides Gang Green with little depth in the backfield which is somewhat worriesome. I’m a little worried that we are one injury away from putting Leon Washington in the backfield full time. Don’t get me wrong, he is the most talented offensive player on the team, but the reality is sometimes you need 3 yards and a pile of dust. Washington, the Jets [...]
Look, it is no secret I am downright giddy about our team this year and I’m not drinking any of the kool aid. I really think we have a nice balance and we appear solid at least on paper…and on the field when it didn’t count. I think the players and coaches turn it up a notch when it’s for real and dare I say Brett Favre leads the Jets on a Super-heroic quest to be America’s Team? It’s about time we had a new one. So here we go in pictures my analysis of how super-heroic Brett’s Jets will [...]
You remember Goerge Wendt right? The lovable actor who played lovable fat bar patron “Norm” on Cheers? That’s Peter King minus the lovable. The uber Jets snubber strikes again in this week’s Sports Illustrated NFL Preview issue. King rates his Top 50 players in the NFL. You know going into it that he doesn’t put any Jets on this list – not even Jett Favre! Ok, I can see us having a couple of players right after #51: David Harris, Darrelle Revis, Kerry Rhodes, Jerricho Cotchery, Alan Faneca, Kris Jenkins and the aformentioned Sir Brett, but…
#48…Denver Broncos Quarterback Jay Cutler. [...]
Preseason Finale Expectations
Number 1, I will not be betting on this game. Smart Right?
There’s no reason for it because today starts COLLEGE FOOTBALL BABY!!! The smell is in the air. NFL and College Football are back and it’s better than any high in the world!!! The offseason always leaves a void in my life. I love my wife and my family, but football is my mistress! My wife loves the offseason because our weekends involve working on house projects, going on dates, and spending quality time together. I’ve always told her those things can continue through football season as long as they [...]
Fantasy or Reality?
I did it again. Every year I go into my Fantasy draft telling myself not to draft Jets, but I couldn’t help it this year. I have Favre & Hasselbeck as my QB’s, Thomas Jones and Brian Westbrook as my RB’s, and Mike Nugent is my kicker. I don’t know why I torture myself every year. It’s worked a few times with Curtis Martin and Vinny, but besides that I reach to get some green on my team.
If this preseason is indicative of what will happen in the regular season (and it never is) then the Jets will at least be [...]
PSL Rally!!!
Quick Note: Saturday, August 23rd, 4pm at the Stadium there will be a rally held against the Personal Seat Licenses. Anyone who wants can speak on behalf of the fans and a DVD will be made and sent to ownership. If anyone has suggestions for how to subsidize the stadium costs without PSL’s, please log onto www.pslrally.com and submit your suggestions. The prices for regular folks to attend games and hold onto season tickets is getting out of hand. Any idea’s would surely be appreciated. Steve Kern of Boonton has organized the protest. Please show some support! Great job Steve!
Going to the game [...]
You were my boys Blue!
Up next for Gang Green is a matchup with neighboring Big Blue. Since the end of the ‘07 regular season we’ve seen the Giants front four tee-off on opposing QB’s. Tampa flat out couldn’t hang. Dallas abandonded the run and Romo went down. Green Bay abandonded the run and Favre went down. New England abandoned the run and Brady went down. Now, most recently, Cleveland left Derek Anderson out to dry and the Giants delivered him a brain bruise!
While I’d love to see Favre in the shotgun zinging the ball around the field, the way to build some confidence for this newly constructed [...]
It’s music to my ears to hear Brett Favre say at his post game press conference, “I’m just one piece of this puzzle. At some point we have to go on and focus on what we’re trying to do as a team and not one person.” Could it be that we are getting a guy who will make the high percentage throw like Pennington, but has the rocket arm to scare defenses away from taking chances? If so, Favre could cement his legecy at the end of his career the same way John Elway was able too. We know they [...]
Brett Is Phelpsian To Jets
Phelpsian: To perform a remarkable feet; pull of something magical, unbelieveable, never before seen. Michael Phelps will soon find his way into Webster’s dictionary as Brett Favre has already found a way into the hearts of Jets fans all over. Brett Favre stepping onto the field in a Jets uniform for the first time in game action Saturday night against the Washington Redksins was an act of Phelpsian proportions. It was if that touchdown pass to rookie tight end Dustin Keller was 8 gold medals rolled into one.
This is not sugar coating or blowing smoke or misguided optimism. Favre looked good. [...]
