Favre and Defense leads the Jets to 2-2!!!

AUTHOR: | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Everything was clicking today in Jet land!!! The defense was on point early to limit some mistakes from Gang Green! They capitalized on a couple of Cardinal turnovers which lead to a defensive TD and a short field for the O!!! We talked about the turnover battle in the Keys to this Week’s game and that’s exactly what we got! Boy did the offense capitalize! Brett Favre finished with 289 & 6 TD’s, and only 1 pick! After an early INT which put the defense in a terrible position, Favre went on to make the right decision on virtually every other play! We [...]

Week 4: Jets & Bets!

AUTHOR: | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

We’re going with this segment a little early this week! Keys to a Week 4 Win: Titans Jerseys… Check! Protect the ball- Look, it doesn’t matter whether it’s Brett or the WR’s that are off target right now. The only thing that we know is that this team cannot afford to lose the turnover battle. Kris Jenkins should be back in the lineup which means the Jets defense should be able to create some pressure on Kurt Warner. The Jets can win this game if they control the time of possession and win the turnover battle, if not, it will [...]

That’s How I See It!!! Samsung’s 2009 SuperBowl Commercial!!!

AUTHOR: | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: None Yet

Alright Jets Fans, here is your chance to speak your mind! Samsung, the official HDTV of the NFL, will be in the NY/NJ Area this weekend and they are inviting Jets Fans to come visit with them and share their views for a commercial called “That’s How I See It”! They are looking for a story to turn into a commercial that will air on NBC during the pregame show of Super Bowl XLIII on February 1, 2009. All you need to do is stop by the NFL Super Ad mobile studio this weekend at Best Buy in Secaucus, N.J., and the [...]

Week 4: THE AARP BOWL!!!

AUTHOR: | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: None Yet

Reports are that Brett Favre will be fine to start this Sunday at home against the Cardinals! That leaves the starting QB’s for this contest at a combined age of 75 years old! Anybody got Vinny’s number just in case? Unfortunately for the Jets, they are at a distinct disadvantage in this game. The Cardinals stayed on the East Coast to practice after their loss to the Redskins. The Jets, on the other hand, have made the coast to coast trip back to NJ, and only have a short week to prepare! The general consensus among Jet Fans seems to be if the team [...]

Broadway Brett and the Boys

AUTHOR: | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: None Yet

The fans who revel in the sports lore of Broadway Joe watched as the team get involved in the theatre that dominated the headlines in Green Bay. Brett Favre lasted a few months in retirement before he had to return to the game. The Packers were ready to move on as an organization, but fans were conflicted between the devotion for their future Hall of Fame quarterback and the desire to avoid the difficult years of the ‘70s and ‘80s once he was finally ready to stop playing. Enter the New York Jets. The Jets had their own hearts broken [...]

A loss is a loss…

AUTHOR: | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: 4 Comments

Look, it’s the end of the 3rd quarter and barring another “Vinny” like comback, this game is over. Luckily, it only counts as 1 loss. The Jets will have a chance to regroup and play the Cardinals next week. The Bottom Line is that Mangini and company were right to build this team to run the ball and play defense. I won’t go into the fact that Pennington just blew out the Pats while the Jets have fallen to the bottom of the division. The point is that this is not Brett Favre’s fault. You can’t bring in a 39 [...]

1st Half… not good…

AUTHOR: | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Is there any chance that Jet Fans will now understand that the team was built for Time of Possession! They were fine in their decision to be a running team, and it makes no sense that they are allowing Favre to throw this many passes. I was hoping they would open it up a little more, but this is ridiculous. Thomas Jones hasn’t had nearly enough touches, which has forced the Jets defense on the field the whole game. The mass of NY writers and fans have got into the heads of Mangini and crew! They have gone away from [...]

You Stay Classy San Diego…

AUTHOR: | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: None Yet

With one day remaining until the Jets take on the Chargers under the lights the sentiment among most fans are that the Jets don’t have much of a chance in this game. I understand that this is a huge West Coast trip for the guys, and San Diego is in a virtual must win situation, but I’m not giving in. After today, the Jets will most likely be chasing two 3-0 squads in New England & Buffalo, so this game means just as much to the Jets to keep pace. San Diego went 1-3 last year and still made it [...]

On the Road Again…

AUTHOR: | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

This week is going to tell us a lot about the 2008 New York Jets! The last time the Jets won a road game anywhere outside of Miami was the end of the 2006 season. Yikes… So what chance do they have in San Diego? Well, there are a couple of things that make me think they have a fighting chance. First of all, Brett Favre has always stepped up his game on Monday Night Football. We saw the emotional performance he gave after the passing of his father where he posted almost 400 yards and 3 TD’s against the [...]

Jets Fire Mangini

AUTHOR: | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: 5 Comments

That will be the headline if Mangenius doesn’t start resembling more of an actual genius and less of a Sopranos guest star – and I’m a Mangini fan. The coaching staff has done an awful job so far this season. Let me repeat that: An awful job. Mangini seems to have mastered only one thing as a head coach, a frustrated scowl. Enough already Mangini. Start taking control of the situation. How does this team make so many dumb mistakes? Dumb penalties? (Now I mean real penalties and not the bone-headed referee manufactured offensive pass interference on Cotchery or the [...]
