If Aaron Rodgers wants Odell Beckham, the NY Jets should make it happen

Aaron Rodgers knows what he wants, and if the NY Jets are able to, they're going to fulfill his wishes. Rodgers has reportedly provided the Jets with a wishlist of free agents he wants the Jets to sign, and on that list is former All-Pro wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

ESPN's Dianna Russini reported on Tuesday that Rodgers wants the Jets to sign wide receivers Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb as well as tight end Marcedes Lewis. But of the four players on the supposed wishlist, Beckham is the most intriguing.

The former Giants receiver hasn't played since Super Bowl LVI when he tore his ACL for the second time. Beckham hoped to play this past season, but his injury prevented him from doing so.

Now healthy, Beckham is looking to sign with a contender this offseason. If and hopefully when the Jets land Rodgers, they make a ton of sense as a landing spot.

Odell Beckham would be an exciting addition to the NY Jets offense alongside Aaron Rodgers

Lazard is a suitable albeit unexciting replacement for Corey Davis. Cobb could fill Braxton Berrios' role as a backup slot/WR4/punt returner, but Beckham would add a new element to the Jets' offense.

It's been a while since we've seen a healthy Beckham, but when he last played with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021, the LSU product flashed signs of the receiver he once was with the Giants.

At just 30 years old, there's every reason to believe that Beckham still has something left in the tank. He finished with 74 catches for 1,035 yards in his last full NFL season with the Cleveland Browns in 2019.

Lazard and Cobb are quality role players, but Beckham, if healthy, can be a legitimate difference-maker in the Jets' offense. He's seemingly been interested in a Rodgers pairing for quite some time now.

Josina Anderson of CBS Sports hinted at a Rodgers/Beckham duo with the Jets back in January, and Sauce Gardner's recent FaceTime call with the star receiver prompted plenty of rumors.

It might be difficult for the Jets to find playing time/roster spots for all three of Beckham, Lazard, and Cobb, especially with Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore in the mix, but Beckham should be a priority.

Beckham will draw interest from other teams, but the hope is that Rodgers' recruiting power could convince him to come to Florham Park. That's likely the Jets' hope, at least.

If Aaron Rodgers wants his "guys" in New York, they should oblige, especially if one of his "guys" is Odell Beckham Jr.
