The New York Jets released their Thursday injury report, and while there was certainly some bad news on Garrett Wilson's status, it looks like No. 2 overall pick David Bailey is set to make his return after missing Week 8 with a groin injury.
After being listed as "limited" on Wednesday, Bailey was upgraded to a "full participant" on Thursday. Bailey missed practice all of last week and carried a "doubtful" designation into the game against the Las Vegas Raiders. It was the only game he's missed so far this season.
Wilson, on the other hand, is trending in the wrong direction. Aaron Glenn revealed on Wednesday that the star wide receiver is in concussion protocol. After logging two straight days of no participation, the Jets' best offensive player is unlikely to suit up against the Kansas City Chiefs.
It sounds like the Jets' defense will be getting a major boost with Bailey, but they can't have two nice things at once.

David Bailey should provide a boost for a poor New York Jets pass rush
The Jets have struggled with their pass rush all season long, even when Bailey was in the lineup. This past Sunday against the Raiders was especially bad, considering they were missing their best player.
They only managed to get one sack on Kirk Cousins, a quarterback who is known for being a bit of a statue in the pocket. They're going to need better than that if they have any hope of taking down Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs on Sunday.
Kansas City's offensive line isn't perfect. They've got an undrafted free agent at left tackle in Kahlil Benson, although he has been solid in 2026. Jaylon Moore, whom Bailey will be facing off against most of the time at right tackle, is a middling player at best.
Other New York Jets injury report notes
Wilson isn't the only player trending in the wrong direction ahead of Week 9. Defensive tackle Harrison Phillips logged a second day of no participation with an ankle injury, and reserve linebacker Trevin Wallace went from limited participation on Wednesday to no participation on Thursday.
On the bright side, edge Joseph Ossai seems trending towards playing against the Chiefs. Despite being the Jets' biggest free-agent signing this offseason, the former Cincinnati Bengals draft pick has only appeared in three games this year.
Mason Taylor and Breece Hall, both limited on Wednesday, were upgraded to full participation on Thursday. They're both likely to suit up on Sunday.
