The NY Jets may be undecided on their choice for the team's next head coach at this time, but one of their star players seems to have already made up his mind.

The Jets officially conducted a virtual interview with Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Aaron Glenn this week. Glenn, a former Jets player, has garnered significant support from fans and is widely regarded as one of the top contenders for the team's head coach position.

Not only does Glenn have the support of Jets fans, but he also has the support of the team's players β€” or at least one key player. That player is star defensive tackle Quinnen Williams.

Williams replied to a Jets Instagram post announcing that the team had interviewed Glenn for their head coach job with a comment that featured two crossed-finger emojis. It's clear that Williams is holding out hope the Jets hire their former cornerback.

Glenn has emerged as one of the most popular and realistic choices to be the next Jets head coach. Of the 16 candidates the team has interviewed/requested to interview to date, Glenn seems like one of the most likely options.

A former Pro Bowl cornerback, Glenn spent eight years playing for the Jets between 1994 and 2001. He'd play another seven years in the NFL before retiring and pursuing a career off the field.

Glenn joined the Jets as a personnel scout in 2012 and would later transition into a role as a coach first with the Cleveland Browns and later with the New Orleans Saints. He's been the Lions' DC under Dan Campbell since 2021.

Glenn's ties to the Jets organization, his close personal relationship with Bill Parcells, and his work overhauling the culture in Detroit have made him an in-demand candidate in Florham Park. The Jets aren't alone in their pursuit, however.

The Saints are another team reportedly heavily in the mix for Glenn. He also has a strong connection to New Orleans, having spent the final year of his career with the Saints before serving as the team's defensive backs coach from 2016 to 2020.

The expectation is that one of either the Jets or Saints will ultimately be the team to hire Glenn. If Quinnen Williams has any say in the matter, he's certainly rooting for the Jets to be that team.
