In the latest episode of The Jet Press Podcast, Justin Fried and Mike Luciano put together a tier list of every NY Jets head coach candidate. Who is the best option for the Jets? Which candidate is the worst?
The entire show was dedicated to putting together a definitive tier list of all 15 known Jets head coach candidates. This includes everyone from Mike Vrabel and Aaron Glenn to Rex Ryan and Steve Spagnuolo, who was revealed as a candidate on Wednesday.
Many believe that Vrabel should be the top candidate for the Jets head coach job, but while Justin and Mike do like the former Tennessee Titans coach as an option, he wasn't the only candidate listed in the top tier.
The likes of Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn and Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady are also seen as strong options for the Jets' head coach job. The same is true for Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores.
Justin and Mike weren't as such about candidates like Houston Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik and Minnesota Vikings quarterbacks coach Josh McCown. Slowik and McCown are intriguing possibilities, but their lack of experience is concerning.

Then there was the boring tier of failed former head coaches such as Arthur Smith, Vance Joseph, and Matt Nagy. None of those three are particularly exciting options, but they're at least a step above the bottom tier of Jets coaching options.
That bottom tier consists of coaching candidates such as Ron Rivera, Brian Griese, and Rex Ryan, all of whom would be pretty disastrous hires for a number of reasons.
Jets interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich received his own individual tier below every other candidate. Yes, that includes Ryan and even New Orleans Saints interim coach/special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi.
