The NY Jets are going to explore every option when it comes to finding their next quarterback this offseason. The easiest and most cost-efficient route would be to sign a QB in free agency.

While the Jets continue to monitor the Aaron Rodgers market, it's far from a guarantee that Rodgers will be available this offseason. As for the 12 players on this list, they will more than likely hit the open market.

That includes potential starting options like Derek Carr and Jimmy Garoppolo, but it also includes some possible backup targets. After all, the Jets would be foolish to go into the 2023 season with Zach Wilson as their primary backup.

Let's take a look at the top 12 quarterbacks set to hit free agency this offseason. But first, a few honorable mentions.

Honorable Mentions: Lamar Jackson/Geno Smith/Daniel Jones

We start with three players who are technically set to be free agents this offseason but won't hit the open market. Lamar Jackson, Geno Smith, and Daniel Jones will not be walking in free agency.

It remains likely that all three players are back with their respective teams in 2023 with the possibility of a franchise tag looming for each of them. Smith and Jones definitely aren't going anywhere — they will either be tagged or extended.

As for Jackson, rumors continue to swirl about his uncertain future. If he is moved, however, it will come via a trade, not through free agency.

It's worth mentioning that all three of Jackson, Smith, and Jones are listed as upcoming free agents so they deserve a shoutout, but don't expect the Jets to be able to sign any of them.
