NY Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner is clearly doing his part to help his team land a new quarterback...or maybe he's just having a little fun on social media.

Gardner sent out a pair of tweets on Friday directed at Las Vegas Raiders quarterback and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, seemingly recruiting them to come to the Jets.

While Gardner later deleted the tweets and insisted he was "trolling," probably to avoid making it seem like he was dissing his own team's quarterbacks, those tweets were still seen by the Twitter masses.

Gardner specifically tagged fellow cornerback D.J. Reed and said that he and Carr "might have to talk about that thing," seemingly referring to the fact that both players wear the No. 4.

Sauce Gardner clearly supports the NY Jets adding another quarterback

While rumors continue to fly about how the Jets remain committed to developing Zach Wilson, it's pretty clear that they will add a veteran this offseason. The three names most heavily connected have been Carr, Rodgers, and Jimmy Garoppolo.

Carr is expected to be released by the Raiders prior to Feb. 15 while Rodgers could be traded in the near future. Garoppolo is a pending free agent and won't be returning to San Francisco.

All three veterans represent significant upgrades over the horrific quarterback play the Jets have received over the last two years, primarily with Zach Wilson at the helm. Don't think the Jets players don't realize this either.

Quinnen Williams previously took a subtle shot at his team's offense in a tweet during the NFC Championship Game. Mekhi Becton is also on Twitter recruiting Rodgers to join the Jets.

Players on the Jets' roster know how good the team could be with competent quarterback play. It's fun to see them take to social media and recruit, even if it likely won't lead to much in the long run.

At the very least, it's nice for Carr and Rodgers to know that they're wanted in New York. If the Jets land either, it's safe to say that they'll be welcomed with open arms by a roster that simply wants to win.
