NY Jets news: Zonovan Knight Rookie of the Week, Quinnen Williams still out
By Justin Fried
The NY Jets continued their reign of dominance over Rookie of the Week awards as running back Zonovan Knight was named the NFL's Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week for Week 14.
Knight carried the ball 17 times for 71 yards and a touchdown while adding two catches for six yards in yet another impressive performance for the rookie running back.
This marks the fourth different Jets player that has won Rookie of the Week in 2022 and Knight's first time. It's the 10th time in 14 weeks that a Jets player has won the award including nine of the last 11.
What's even more impressive is that Knight was forced to go up against San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy this week. Despite that, Jets fans made sure to vote for their team's rookie and ensure that Knight won the award.
Garrett Wilson has been named Rookie of the Week in Weeks 2, 8, 9, and 13, Breece Hall was the recipient in Weeks 4 and 6, and Sauce Gardner won the award in Weeks 5, 7, and 9.
In what has truly been a special draft class for Gang Green, Knight is the latest member of the rookie class to win Rookie of the Week — and unlike the others, he wasn't even drafted.

Quinnen Williams misses practice again
Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams was held out of practice for a second consecutive day on Thursday as the soon-to-be Pro Bowl defensive lineman nurses a calf injury.
Williams injured his calf in the team's Week 14 loss to the Buffalo Bills and his status remains up in the air for this Sunday's game. The Jets insisted that Williams had a 50/50 chance to play, but the fact that he hasn't been able to practice doesn't bode well for his chances.
If Williams is forced to miss practice again on Friday, it's safe to assume that he won't be active for this week's game. His status is very much worth monitoring over the next 24 hours.
"No doubt" that Mike White will start in Week 15
Jets quarterback Mike White has been limited in practice in each of the last two days with a ribs injury, but he told reporters on Thursday that there was "no doubt" that he would play this Sunday.
White was knocked out of the game twice in Week 14 as a result of some nasty hits he took while standing in the pocket, so much so that he was taken to the hospital after the game.
Despite this, the Jets have been preparing as if White would start on Sunday and that's exactly what seems likely to happen. If White was unable to go, Zach Wilson would be in line to start as the team's newly-promoted QB2.
Don't expect that to happen, though. White has promised that he will play in Week 15.
