The Davante Adams trade market is quickly heating up, and the NY Jets might be able to land a new All-Pro wide receiver within the next 24 hours. At least, that's what the latest trade rumors would suggest.

Multiple reports have indicated that an Adams trade could be agreed to as soon as today, Tuesday, Oct. 8. Both the Las Vegas Raiders and Adams are reportedly motivated to get a deal done as soon as possible.

The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported on Monday that the Raiders want Adams to find a new home within 48 hours. Other insiders such as Albert Breer and Peter Schrager have suggested the same.

Further fuel was added to the fire late Monday night when it was revealed that Adams canceled his scheduled appearance on the Up & Adams show with Kay Adams on Tuesday. Adams took to social media to update her listeners on the situation.

Adams insisted that a lot is happening at the moment with the Raiders star receiver before imploring fans to "stay tuned." That combined with the latest reports certainly suggests a trade is imminent.

Are the NY Jets about to trade for Davante Adams?

Now, it should be noted that while an Adams trade appears very likely, it's not a guarantee that he will end up with the Jets. The New Orleans Saints have been the most aggressive team in Adams' market, and he's expressed a desire to reunite with Derek Carr. The Saints are a very real possibility.

Other teams such as the Pittsburgh Steelers, Washington Commanders, Buffalo Bills, and Baltimore Ravens are all still monitoring Adams' market, although it's considered unlikely that he will end up with any of them. It seems to be down to the Jets and Saints.

The Jets remain the odds-on favorite to trade for Adams, largely due to his ties to Aaron Rodgers. Adams has reportedly made the Jets his top landing spot, and even if the Saints have been more aggressive, they don't have the financial flexibility New York has.

The Jets currently have over $16 million in cap space — a result of Haason Reddick's contract not counting against the cap. That could allow them to acquire Adams while taking on the majority of his remaining 2024 salary. The Saints can't offer that.

The Raiders have been determined to not only acquire a second-round pick in an Adams trade but to avoid eating significant dead cap. It doesn't sound like any team is interested in giving up a second-round pick, but the Jets can offer financial relief.

All signs point to an Adams trade being completed as soon as today, and the Jets remain his most likely landing spot. As Kay Adams said, stay tuned folks — this is really happening.
