Aaron Rodgers and Robert Saleh had an awkward exchange after Jets TD
By Mike Luciano
The NYJets played one of their best halves of football in recent history in primetime against Jacoby Brissett and the New England Patriots. Aaron Rodgers was dialed in during the first half, and a strong defensive showing limited New England's offensive attack.
After Rodgers connected with old friend Allen Lazard for his first MetLife touchdown pass as a Jet to put New York up 7-0, the Jets managed to take an even bigger lead on the back of a spinning Breece Hall touchdown run.
After the Jets piled on, head coach Robert Saleh was quick to let his emotion flow. While Saleh was in heaven after Hall's touchdown, Rodgers didn't seem to be as pumped up as his noticeably enthusiastic head coach.
Rodgers didn't seem to pleased with his coach getting physical after the touchdown, as he didn't share the same enthusiasm Saleh following the 14-0 advantage. Can you blame Saleh for maybe getting a little too amped up? Zach Wilson rarely helped him get out to such big leads.

The Jets ended the first half with Rodgers going 15-20 for 170 yards. Three of those five incompletions were in rapid succession on the final drive of the half (which ended in a horrendous Greg Zuerlein shank), and two of them were near-misses. Rodgers played his best half of football as a Jet.
In addition, the defense has given up just 40 total yards. New England's biggest positive play was a penalty, and Brissett has already been sacked three times. The Jets may not be blowing the doors off New England defensively, but they are already clicking at a much better clip than they were with Wilson under center last year.
While we may never find out what was said as all the semi-professional lip-readers try to diagnose if Rodgers was genuinely upset with Saleh, at least the Jets are up 11 heading into the half. Whatever dynamic is needed for these results, please bring more of it.
