The NY Jets' first drive of their Thursday Night duel against the New England Patriots started out well, but a holding penalty on Morgan Moses killed the momentum. The second one was more classic Aaron Rodgers efficiency, as he marched the team down the field on the strength of his arm.

Just when it looked like another drive was going to stall out and end unceremoniously, as Breece Hall was tackled for a one-yard loss, Patriots linebacker Jahlani Tavai was willing to help the Jets keep marching the ball down the field with a play that is sure to earn him a Jerod Mayo tongue-lashing.

Tavai was flagged for pulling off a move that is more at home in WWE than an NFL game, as he slammed Hall to the ground and was promptly flagged for unnecessary roughness. The move was quickly reciprocated by Jets offensive lineman John Simpson, who gave Tavai a stern talking-to in the aftermath.

As the drive continued, Rodgers eventually fired off a quick pass to Allen Lazard for the former Packers wide receiver's third touchdown of the season. Lazard was quick to save the game ball, as this was Rodgers' first touchdown pass in MetLife Stadium as a Jet.

The Jets were able to hold serve after their scoring drive, as a big-time sack on third down split between Micheal Clemons and Will McDonald forced New England into another punt. Rodgers has got the ball out quickly again, and the numbers have looked solid this far.

The Jets may have paid Mike Williams with the though he would be the No. 2 pass-catcher in this offense, but the early returns have shown that Lazard is actually beating him out. The Jets will take production anywhere they can get it after last season's nightmare.

New York's offense may be better than they were last year, but they will gladly take a boost from Tavai if he is willing to give it up. Historically, helping Rodgers with bonehead plays has not worked out very well for an opposing defense.
