4. NY Jets target: Shamar Stephen

The Jets don't have many options as it pertains to non-nose tackles in free agency, but one veteran target could be Shamar Stephen. Stephen is your classic journeyman defensive tackle.

He's been in the NFL since 2014, and after spending the first six years of his career in Minnesota, he's bounced around from team to team over the last few seasons.

At 6-foot-5, 310 pounds, Stephen would be one of the biggest defensive linemen on the Jets' roster, but he could effectively fill that 1-technique role in Robert Saleh's defense.

He's an experienced veteran run-stopper and a Long Island native to boot. That's someone the Jets could use on their roster.

3. NY Jets target: Sheldon Richardson

Time heals all wounds and all that jazz, right? It's been a while since we've seen Sheldon Richardson don the green and white, and most Jets fans might not have the fondest memories of Richardson's time with the organization.

Still, the 31-year-old has put together a solid career and remains an effective player even in 2022. He's never finished with a PFF grade below 62.0 and has been a consistent interior pass rusher wherever he's gone.

And, perhaps most importantly, he's one of the few true scheme fits the Jets could still sign. Yes, there's plenty of baggage here dating back to Richardson's time with the franchise, but there's a new regime in charge.

If the Jets could overlook past transgressions, perhaps an unlikely Sheldon Richardson reunion could make some sense.
