8. NY Jets target: Sheldon Richardson, DT
Much like Suh, it's difficult to envision a scenario where Sheldon Richardson makes his long-awaited return to New York. The former 13th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft spent his first four years with the Jets before he was traded to the Seattle Seahawks.
Richardson never quite lived up to the potential he showed with the Jets, but he's still been a reliable defensive contributor for three different teams over the last five years.
The 31-year-old has had two stints with the Minnesota Vikings and spent time in both Seattle and Cleveland where he has managed to play some pretty good football.
The Jets didn't exactly end on good terms with Richardson, but that was six years and multiple regimes ago. They say time heals all wounds, and maybe, just maybe, the Jets explore a reunion with their former first-round pick.
7. NY Jets target: Anthony Barr, LB
Speaking of bad blood, the Jets also have plenty of history with former Minnesota Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr. Barr infamously agreed to sign with the Jets back in the 2019 offseason before reversing his decision and re-signing with the Vikings.
It was a bit of an embarrassing development for the Jets, one that many fans still hold a grudge for to this day. But with Barr once again available, perhaps the Jets could let bygones be bygones and come calling again.
The 30-year-old Barr has dealt with injuries over the last two seasons and isn't the player he once was, but given the Jets' lack of depth at the linebacker position, he could still step in as an instant-impact contributor.
If the Jets are willing to overlook past transgressions, they could look to sign Barr in free agency.
