The NY Jets will look to scour the free-agent market this offseason in search of talented players at a number of positions. The obvious needs at safety, tight end, offensive line, cornerback, and pass rusher will likely be addressed in some way.

But those won't be the only positions the Jets target.

General manager Joe Douglas is sure to do his due diligence as he looks to upgrade the roster in every way possible. Some of the more underrated needs such as defensive tackle and linebacker could be aggressed.

One position the Jets would be wise to at least explore adding to is running back. And if they're looking to do so in free agency, there are a few appealing options.

2021 fourth-round pick Michael Carter burst onto the scene as a rookie and established himself as someone the Jets could hopefully build around for the foreseeable future. However, there isn't much in the way of sure things behind him.

The speedy Ty Johnson saw his playing time diminish as the season went on and was even a healthy scratch at a point. Tevin Coleman was a surprisingly effective contributor, but he's a free agent. And the less said about La'Mical Perine the better.

The Jets could use another capable running back to pair with Carter and they could find that player on the open market. Let's take a look at six possible free-agent running backs the Jets could target this offseason.
