After a disappointing year, the NY Jets head into a pivotal offseason. With a vote of confidence from Woody Johnson, Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas will get one more chance with Aaron Rodgers in 2024.

But as Rodgers said, they’re all going to be on the hot seat next season.

If the Jets fail to reach the postseason, they may be looking for a new general manager, head coach, and even a new quarterback at this time next year. Here are five bold predictions for the 2024 offseason.

1. NY Jets trade Zach Wilson to the San Francisco 49ers

It’s all but guaranteed that the Jets will trade Zach Wilson this offseason. The only questions are what team he’s going to and what the Jets could get in return for him.

Well, the San Francisco 49ers are a good fit. Their backup quarterback, another former Jets top-three pick, Sam Darnold, is a free agent after the season, and they were interested in Wilson when they traded up in the 2021 draft. They could take a chance on a player they liked as a prospect and have an option behind Brock Purdy.

What could the Jets get in return for him? Sam Darnold was traded for a second-round pick and a fourth-round pick, but the Panthers acquired him to be their starting quarterback.

The 49ers got a 2024 fourth-round pick in return for Trey Lance to be the Dallas Cowboys backup. Perhaps they would flip that same selection for Wilson.
