NY Jets shockingly pass on first-round quarterback in 3-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft
By Mike Luciano
The New York Jets will likely be looking for yet another quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft, as the end of the Aaron Rodgers is coming on sooner than just about anyone could have expected. However, the Jets can't just pick the best one available and call it a day.
While Miami's Cam Ward and Colorado's Shedeur Sanders look like future starters, there is some uncertainty from the rest of the class. The only player regarded as a possible first-rounder outside of that trio is Alabama's Jalen Milroe, and he has some flaws as a passer.
If the Jets decide not to take a quarterback, or are simply too good to pick high enough for the prospects they do like at that, they could try to build a roster in a different way. This approach to roster building not only gets the Jets a quarterback in the second round,
New York Jets 3-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft
Round 1, Pick 7: Mason Graham, IDL, Michigan
If the Jets are not sold on Jalen Milroe's potential, the best move for them will be moving on from the volatile Alabama passer and adding a player like Mason Graham, who may end up being the No. 1 overall player in this class when everything is said and done. Graham, even right now, is a massive boost over Javon Kinlaw.
With pass rush potential. tremendous power to enable run stuffing and production against quality Big Ten schools, Graham will be an instant impact starter. Graham and Quinnen Williams would essentially give the Jets two starters on the defensive line for most of the next decade.
Round 2, Pick 38: Drew Allar, QB, Penn State
In a draft where QB4 remains wide open due to Carson Beck and Quinn Ewers regressing this season, Drew Allar is making a legitimate case for that title. At 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds with the strongest arm of any top prospect in this class, Allar is certainly making a respectable claim for that role.
While his accuracy can come and go over the course of a game, the combination of his massive improvement from 2023 to 2024 and his ability to process from the pocket all go to make Allar a player New York could bring to town as a possible succession plan for Aaron Rodgers.
Round 3, Pick 96: Malachi Moore, SAF, Alabama
The Jets may have burned their third-rounder this year on the Davante Adams trade, but they had one more lying around here. The safety room may be the worst overall positional unit this team has to offer, which will get them interested in a versatile player from a successful program like Malachi Moore.
Moore might not be a very good tackler or run-support player, but he is a traditional ballhawk who could waste no time in making his presence known with a timely interception. Having played all over the field in college, Moore should be an easy fit in a pro offense.
