Garrett Wilson is already wooing possible Jets 2025 QB draft pick on social media

The NY Jets are heading toward another miserable losing season, which could lead them to draft yet another quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, New York may not be able to sneak their way into the top of the order and pick one of the better alternatives.

The Jets will likely not be bad enough to earn a pick that will enable them to draft one of the two top prospects in this class; Colorado's Shedeur Sanders and Miami's Cam Ward. The likely QB3 in Alabama's Jalen Milroe has some major flaws in his game, and both Georgia's Carson Beck and Texas' Quinn Ewers have seen their stock plummet.

One quarterback who is currently viewed as a mid-round prospect, but could end up soaring up draft boards in the coming months, is Penn State's Drew Allar. After a valiant effort in a close Big Ten Championship loss to Oregon, Jets WR Garrett Wilson is seemingly all aboard the Allar hype train.

Wilson tweeted that Allar was the best Penn State quarterback he has ever seen, which is high praise coming from an Ohio State alum. While Allar doesn't have a high bar to clear to be better than Christian Hackenberg, he does have the tools to eventually become a long-term pro starter.

Allar has been cited as a possible No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, as the true junior is expected by many to head back to school for one more year. However, his traits and production for the Nittany Lions have been so impressive that he could be picked fairly high in a weak quarterback class.

Allar threw 25 touchdowns against just two interceptions in 2023, but his 6.8 yards per attempt shows his offense rarely threw the ball down the field. Allar, who has 21 touchdowns against seven interceptions this season, has put a lot more positive plays on film with new offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki.

Allar's frame (6-foot-5, 238 pounds) and perhaps the strongest arm will be his selling points, but he also has solid mobility and playmaking out of structure. His weakness right now stems from some inconsistent intermediate accuracy and frantic mechanics.

Much like how Milroe is a traits-based selection due to his speed and playmaking, Allar is the Josh Allen mold of a bigger quarterback with a rocket arm. Wilson may get his wish if the new front office is high on Allar.
