The NY Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars will square off in a Week 15 game with major draft implications. Both the Jets and Jaguars enter this game with a 3-10 record and not much to play for, but each fanbase will be hoping to see their team climb one step closer to a top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

It's been a difficult season for the Jets, who have lost nine of their last 10 games and find themselves on the brink of one of their worst finishes in recent franchise history. From possible Super Bowl contender to this — it's been quite the fall from hypothetical grace.

The Jaguars similarly entered the 2024 season with lofty expectations, with many picking Jacksonville to be serious contenders in the AFC South. Instead, they've been one of the worst teams in the NFL through 14 weeks.

The Jaguars will be without quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who was placed on the injured reserve and replaced by Mac Jones earlier this month. Jones is miraculously 5-0 against the Jets in his career, one of only six quarterbacks in NFL history to win their first five games against New York.

The Jets will be without a number of players in Week 15, as tight end Tyler Conklin (personal reasons), cornerback D.J. Reed (groin), cornerback Brandin Echols (shoulder), offensive lineman Xavier Newman (groin), and running back Kene Nwangwu (hand) have all been ruled out.

Nwangwu was placed on IR on Saturday and replaced by cornerback Kendall Sheffield, who was signed to the 53-man roster. Sheffield will give the Jets much-needed depth at cornerback with Reed and Echols out.

Running back Breece Hall (knee), right tackle Morgan Moses (wrist), and right guard Alijah Vera-Tucker (ankle) are all listed as questionable for today's game. The expectation is that all three will play.

Who are the official inactives for both the Jets and the Jaguars today? We've got you covered.

  • WR Malachi Corley
  • CB Brandin Echols
  • DE Braiden McGregor

The Jets have ruled five players out due to injury this week, four of whom are among the team's seven inactives. The only one who isn't is running back/return specialist Kene Nwangwu, who was placed on IR on Saturday after suffering a broken hand. He is out for the rest of the season.

The Jets will be especially thin at cornerback this week with D.J. Reed (groin) and Brandin Echols (shoulder) both inactive due to injury. Rookie Qwan'Tez Stiggers, who was a healthy scratch last week, is expected to start opposite Sauce Gardner. Jarrick Bernard-Converse and Kendall Sheffield give the Jets extra cornerback depth.

Tight end Tyler Conklin was ruled out Sunday morning due to personal reasons as he and his wife are expecting a baby. Jeremy Ruckert and Kenny Yeboah should receive significant snaps in today's game. The Jets elevated Zack Kuntz from the practice squad to serve as their third tight end.

Rookie wide receiver Malachi Corley is a healthy scratch yet again, this time in favor of former UFL standout Brandon Smith, who was elevated from the practice squad this weekend. Smith impressed in the preseason and is set to make his NFL debut today.

Running back Breece Hall is active despite entering the week with a knee injury. Hall, Braelon Allen, and Isaiah Davis will be the Jets' three running backs in today's game.

The Jaguars have only ruled out one player for today's game, tight end Evan Engram. Engram is expected to be replaced by 2023 second-round pick Brenton Strange. Luke Farrell and Josiah Deguara are the other tight ends on Jacksonville's active roster.

Engram was already placed on the injured reserve on Saturday, so he will not count toward the Jaguars' inactives this week.
