The NY Jets and Miami Dolphins will meet for the first time this season in South Beach later today in a game both teams hoped would have higher stakes at this point in the year.
The 3-9 Jets are all but eliminated from postseason contention and a loss today would mathematically take them out of the running. A loss might be in their best interest, however, as they hope to climb up the 2025 NFL Draft order.
The Dolphins are still technically alive in the playoff race, but at 5-7, their margin for error is slim. Miami is desperately in need of a win over their division rivals to keep their postseason hopes alive.
The Jets enter this game with a few notable injuries. Linebacker C.J. Mosley (neck) was placed on the injured reserve on Saturday, likely ending his 2024 season and his Jets career. The Jets will return wide receiver Allen Lazard and backup offensive lineman Wes Schweitzer, both of whom were activated off the IR.
Running back Breece Hall (knee) is also set to miss today's game. Hall suffered a knee injury in Week 11, and although he played coming out of the Jets' bye in Week 13, it's clear that he's not 100 percent healthy. Cornerback Sauce Gardner is also doubtful with a hamstring injury.
Dolphins left tackle Terron Armstead is questionable with a knee injury, but despite not practicing all week, he is reportedly trending toward playing.
Who are the official inactives for both the Jets and the Dolphins today? We've got you covered.
Full inactives list for NY Jets in Week 14
- RB Breece Hall
- CB Sauce Gardner
- WR Malachi Corley
- OL Xavier Newman
- DE Braiden McGregor
- CB Qwan'Tez Stiggers
Running back Breece Hall will not play today due to a knee injury. Hall suffered the injury in Week 11 against the Indianapolis Colts, and while he was able to play in the next game following the bye, the Jets have decided to hold him out of this game after he failed to practice all week.
Rookies Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis will see the bulk of touches in Hall's absence. The Jets also have return specialist Kene Nwangwu, who could be used as a running back.
Cornerback Sauce Gardner is inactive with a hamstring injury. Gardner was listed as doubtful entering the game and will be replaced in the starting lineup by Brandin Echols. Rookie cornerback Qwan'Tez Stiggers is also inactive with an illness, leaving the Jets thin at cornerback.
The Jets elevated Kendall Sheffield from the practice squad to provide depth at the position. He and Jarrick Bernard-Converse will be the backup cornerbacks for the Jets in this game.
Wide receiver Malachi Corley is a healthy scratch again with Allen Lazard back from injured reserve. Corley returns to the bench.
Full inactives list for Miami Dolphins in Week 14
- QB Skylar Thompson (emergency QB)
- CB Ethan Bonner
- RB Raheem Mostert
- OL Andrew Meyer
- TE Jack Stoll
- WR River Cracraft
Left tackle Terron Armstead is active despite missing practice all week with a knee injury. The same can't be said about running back Raheem Mostert, who was listed as questionable with a hip injury. Rookie running back Jaylen Wright will see an increased workload today alongside De'Von Achane.
Wide receiver River Cracraft is a surprise inactive for the Dolphins. He played 25 offensive snaps over the last two weeks and is usually a special-teams regular.
