The NY Jets are expected to be without star running back Breece Hall when they travel to South Beach to take on the Miami Dolphins in Week 14. Hall was unable to practice all week due to a knee injury and is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game.

The former Iowa State star suffered the injury in the team's Week 11 loss to the Indianapolis Colts but was able to play this past week when the Jets returned from their bye. Unfortunately, Hall's injury appears to have gotten worse.

Jets interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich told reporters on Friday that Hall is expected to miss Sunday's game, the first time he will miss a game since his rookie season. Hall's absence creates a void in the Jets' backfield as well as fantasy owners' starting lineups.

While the Jets don't have much left to play for at this stage, fantasy owners relying on Hall as they make a playoff push have been left scrambling following this news. What should Jets fans and Hall fantasy owners expect from the team's running backs in Week 14?

Which NY Jets running back will replace Breece Hall in Week 14?

The Jets have three healthy running backs on their roster entering Sunday's game, Braelon Allen, Isaiah Davis, and Kene Nwangwu. Nwangwu was signed to the 53-man roster this week, replacing Israel Abanikanda who has since joined the San Francisco 49ers.

The former Minnesota Vikings fourth-round pick made quite the first impression in his Jets debut last Sunday, returning a kick 99 for a touchdown on his very first touch. Still, he's not expected to play a significant role in the backfield rotation against the Dolphins.

The Jets will instead lean on the rookie duo of Allen and Davis to replace Hall. Allen has been the Jets' primary backup running back for most of the season and has become a popular handcuff for Hall fantasy owners.

At just 20 years old, Allen is the youngest player in the NFL and the youngest player in Jets history. He's the safe bet to assume the bulk of snaps in Hall's absence, but following a hot start to the season, Allen's production and efficiency have dipped.

He's averaging just 2.75 yards per carry since Week 5 and has just one run of longer than 10 yards in that timeframe as well. That could be why the Jets decided to give Davis his first significant share of snaps in Week 13.

A fifth-round pick out of South Dakota State, Davis was limited to almost exclusively special teams work and garbage time snaps up until this past Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks. Davis played a season-high 12 offensive snaps, finishing with three catches for 28 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed one time for four yards.

The Jets seem to like Davis as a receiver, as evidenced by the fact that he hauled in one catch for 10 yards on just two snaps in Week 10 as well. That could give him a higher upside than Allen in PPR leagues.

Allen has also showcased his receiving upside and will likely be used more in goal-line situations, but Davis shouldn't be overlooked. There's a real chance that Davis will finish Week 14 with more fantasy points than his rookie counterpart.

Jets fans will get a more extensive look at both of their team's rookie running backs on Sunday. As for Breece Hall fantasy owners, Allen is the safer pick — especially given his touchdown upside — but don't overlook Davis because of his lack of playing time earlier in the year. He's carving out a role for himself in the Jets' offense.
