The NY Jets and their fans officially know what their schedule will be during the first year of the Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey era. Even with the team projected to miss the playoffs again, the 26th-ranked schedule could lead to them piling up some wins.
The Jets will need to prove that their Justin Fields-led offense can strike fear into opposing clubs, all while their defense tries to get back to their 2022 and 2023 form after a brutal drop-off last year.
Is there a chance the Jets can make it to the playoffs, or will they end the year outside of the postseason for the 15th consecutive season in a row.
NY Jets 2025 game-by-game predictions
Week 1: Vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
In what will assuredly be a reunion against old friend Aaron Rodgers, the Jets can somehow find a way to overcome a strong Steelers defensive line and start the Aaron Glenn era off right. Win
Week 2 Vs. Buffalo Bills
The Jets have given Buffalo some fits over the years, but MVP quarterback Josh Allen is enough to make all the difference here. Loss
Week 3 @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Bucs, led on defense by excommunicated former Jet Haason Reddick, should be able to get enough big plays from a Baker Mayfield-led passing attack to outduel Fields at home. Loss
Week 4 @ Miami Dolphins (Monday Night Football)
The Dolphins have a habit of collapsing at the end of the season, but the Jets facing them on the road early in the season could put them in a bad spot against Mike McDaniel's offense. Loss
Week 5 Vs. Dallas Cowboys
Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Micah Parsons will need to win this game by themselves. Glenn might be able to out-coach fellow neophyte Brian Schottenheimer to pick up the win here. Win
Week 6 Vs. Denver Broncos (London)
Even if the Jets shut down Bo Nix again, it seems unlikely that Fields will make enough plays with his arm to take down a very good Denver defense on a neutral field. Loss
Week 7 vs. Carolina Panthers
Bryce Young may have found a groove near the end of the season, but the Panthers' roster as a whole isn't good enough to take down the Jets on the road. Win
Week 8 @ Cincinnati Bengals
Even with Cincinnati's poor defensive roster, the idea of Fields winning an aerial shootout against Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase seems fairly unlikely. Loss
Week 9 BYE
Week 10 vs. Cleveland Browns
The Browns have some defensive playmakers, but their quarterback uncertainty might make it difficult for them to go on the road and knock the Jets off their perch. Win
Week 11 @ New England Patriots (Thursday Night Football)
The Jets and Patriots appear to be two evenly matched teams, but going to their Massachusetts house of horrors on a short week could give New England the advantage Loss
Week 12 @ Baltimore Ravens
This may be the most difficult game on the Jets' schedule. It will take a herculean effort to beat Lamar Jackson on the road. Loss
Week 13 vs. Atlanta Falcons
Michael Penix Jr. and the Falcons are poised to compete for a division title, and they could score a slight upset win against a Jets team who might be running out of gas. Loss
Week 14 vs. Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins struggle when the weather gets colder, and the Jets' ability to run the football could bring an end to the Mike McDaniel era with a victory here. Win
Week 15 @ Jacksonville Jaguars
If Liam Coen is able to get Trevor Lawrence back to his old self and integrate Travis Hunter into he offense, the Jaguars could be dangerous enough offensively to squeak out a close win here. Loss
Week 16 @ New Orleans Saints
Barring Tyler Shough suddenly turning into Drew Brees, the Jets' superior roster should give them the edge over a rebuilding New Orleans team. Win
Week 17 vs. New England Patriots
Even if Drake Maye makes strides as a passer this season, it would be a major disappointment if the Jets don't win at least one of their games against the Patriots this year. Win
Week 18 @ Buffalo Bills
Assuming the Bills aren't resting their starters and have something to play for, the Jets could find it hard to win on the road against a deep Buffalo roster. Loss
Final Verdict: 7-10
The Jets will once again be stuck in the 7-10 mediocrity they found themselves in last year, albeit with a clear direction guiding them and a solid foundation having been set by Glenn and new GM Mougey.
