The New York Jets need to use the 2025 NFL Draft as a chance to remake their roster now that Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey have been installed as the head coach and general manager. Luckily for the Jets, many of their big positions of need are areas where this class is incredibly strong.
The Jets need offensive playmakers now that it seems like a foregone conclusion that Davante Adams is not going to be back, but the interior defensive line outside of Quinnen Williams remains a huge problem. Safety could also be worth targeting with a high pick.
The Jets may not be overflowing with draft capital after going for broke under Joe Douglas and Robert Saleh, but the new regime should still be able to put a quality team together if they can follow this 3-round NFL Mock Draft now that the NFL Combine is officially over.
New York Jets 3-round post-Combine 3-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft
Round 1, Pick 7: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State
The temptation to go defensive tackle or defensive back at this point could be very appealing for the Jets, but Warren is such a unique talent as a receiver that a New York team in need of some extra pass-catchers around Garrett Wilson might not be able to pass him up.
Concerns about his blocking are nullified by his speed, soft hands, and willingness to make big catches over the middle. New offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand running his variation of an offense that turned Sam LaPorta into a young star could have the same effect on Warren.
Round 2, Pick 42: T.J. Sanders, DT, South Carolina
Sanders may not clock in at 300 pounds, but his tremendous strength and power have enabled him to stop the run better than many tackles who have 20 or 30 pounds on him. After a strong NFL Combine, it seems hard to imagine a world where Sanders is not picked in the top 50.
Sanders' lateral mobility and lack of great technical refinement will be obstacles he needs to overcome in his first season, but a defensive line coach like Eric Washington could be ideal for helping him fix those issues. Sanders should be a terrific young starter by the end of his rookie season.
Round 3, Pick 92: Andrew Mukuba, SAF, Texas
The Jets are going on what feels like their fifth straight year without quality safety play, and the free-agent market isn't exactly bursting with quality options. Glenn, an undersized defensive back who made his name on generating turnovers, could see a bit of himself in Mukuba.
Mukuba is just 190 pounds as a safety, and his tackling is poor, but he is a true ballhawk who should have no trouble piling up the interceptions once he comes to the NFL. Mukuba may need to adjust to the physicality of the NFL, but those turnover skills are worth rolling the dice on when Day 2 rolls around.
