The NY Jets have been connected to a number of different prospects in the lead-up to the 2025 NFL Draft, but one player has seemingly emerged as a favorite for the team, at least according to NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah.
In his first mock draft last month, Jeremiah had the Jets select Penn State tight end Tyler Warren, and just weeks later his second mock draft echoed that prediction. He's one of the only draft insiders to project Warren to be selected as high as No. 7 overall.
Jeremiah projected the top-six picks of this year's draft to be Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter, Miami quarterback Cam Ward, Colorado cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter, LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell, Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham, and Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders in his most recent mock draft.
That left Warren to be selected seventh overall by a Jets team that will be looking to upgrade their tight end room this offseason. Here's what Jeremiah had to say about the pick.
"The Jets ranked second to last in rushing offense last season, and they desperately need another target in the passing game. Warren helps them improve in both of those areas."Daniel Jeremiah

Tyler Warren would be an exciting addition to the NY Jets' offense
Warren is coming off an outstanding senior season at Penn State in 2024 in which he received the John Mackey Award, given to the nation's top tight end. he finished the year with 104 catches for 1,233 yards and eight touchdowns, earning first-team All-American honors in the process.
At 6-foot-6, 257 pounds, Warren is a fluid athlete who doubled as not only a weapon in Penn State's passing game but as a versatile and effective blocker. Both of these skills would be crucial to a Jets team that's expected to rely a lot on their tight ends in 2024 if they have the personnel.
New offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand comes from a Detroit Lions team that ranked among the league leaders in 12 personnel usage over the last two seasons. The Lions rely on their tight ends to double as effective pass-catchers and viable run-blockers.
The Jets haven't had a tight end that particularly excelled in either aspect of the game. Tyler Conklin was a reliable receiver who struggled as a blocker and wasn't particularly dynamic in the passing game. No tight end on the Jets' roster over the last few seasons has been an especially impressive blocker.
Former third-round pick Jeremy Ruckert is the only tight end under contract with the Jets entering the 2025 offseason, meaning the team will make multiple additions in the coming weeks/months.
Warren would be the highest-drafted tight end in franchise history, an honor currently held by Kyle Brady, who was infamously selected ninth overall by the Jets in 1995. The Jets notably passed on selecting Las Vegas Raiders star Brock Bowers in last year's draft.
