For as long as most New York Jets fans can remember, they've never had a legitimate offensive threat at tight end.

It's always been a glaring hole for the team, having not had a consistent option since a few seasons of Dustin Keller in the late 2000s and early 2010s, but that's all changed now.

In the last two NFL Drafts, the Jets have spent two premium draft picks on tight ends. A 2025 second-round pick on Mason Taylor, and a 2026 first-round pick on Kenyon Sadiq.

Despite having a potential two-headed monster at tight end, it seems like the veteran, Taylor, isn't concerned about losing reps to New York's latest draft pick and thinks the sky is the limit for the two of them.

The second-year tight end was asked about the possibility of him and Sadiq competing for targets in the Jets offense, but downplayed concerns and instead uplifted his teammate, via the team website.

"Everyone's going to have their role and I just think it's going to be really exciting because we're going to be unstoppable actually because there's so many options and if you want to shut down the tight ends, then there's Garrett [Wilson] and the receivers."

When asked what the Jets are getting from their rookie tight end, Taylor pointed to Sadiq's "explosiveness, right out the get-go," and couldn't contain his excitement about the possibility of 12 and 13 personnel sets.

Regardless of how Taylor feels, he currently has the edge on the depth chart. Sadiq missed all of OTAs and minicamp recovering from hernia surgery and lost out on valuable practice time.

He's expected to be ready in time for training camp, but the time he missed still matters. Taylor, having a year of NFL experience under his belt, certainly goes a long way as well.

Regardless, the Jets having two exciting young options at tight end is something new, and gives offensive coordinator Frank Reich ample opportunity to scheme up creative looks.

Who cares who has the most receptions by season's end, as long as the Jets get the most out of both youngsters?
