Halloween is just around the corner, and the New York Jets season is virtually over. Sure, at 2-5, they're not mathematically eliminated from anything quite yet, but after this past Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins, fans likely wouldn't mind a merciful end to another disappointing season.

With the trade deadline coming up on November 10, it only makes sense that the Jets may start taking a look around their roster and deciding if they can add to their stockpile of 2027 draft assets by trading away players who don't have a clear future with the team.

The 2026 trade deadline is unlikely to have the same fireworks as it did last year, but with Darren Mougey's savviness for making deals, let's take a look at the roster and see some players who could be on the move.

Which New York Jets players could be on the move ahead of the trade deadline?

Tier 1: Makes the most sense

DT Harrison Phillips

This group of candidates consists of veterans on expiring deals, and none may be more attractive to teams around the league than Harrison Phillips. The veteran defensive tackle was one of the Jets' best players in 2025, but his play has taken a step back in 2026.

The emergence of rookie defensive tackle Darrell Jackson Jr. has made Phillips expendable, and fans should want to see the youngster get more snaps. If a contender is looking for an extra run-stuffing tackle with great leadership skills, the Jets should be willing to flip their defensive captain for a Day 3 pick.

CB Nahshon Wright

The 2025 Pro Bowler has clearly fallen out of favor with the Jets' coaching staff. Despite having a clear nose for the football, as evidenced by his five interceptions and two forced fumbles last season, New York has opted to keep Nashon Wright inactive on game days.

If a team with championship aspirations is looking to add a cornerback to the mix who is volatile in coverage but has a penchant for forcing turnovers, the Jets would likely be willing to part with Wright for anything at this point.

S Andre Cisco

Andre Cisco has been a solid third safety for the Jets this season. When they bring one of Minkah Fitzpatrick or Dane Belton down into the box, Cisco typically comes in to play the "center fielder" role for the Jets' defense. That could be valuable for any team looking for help on the back end.

Parting ways with Cisco could open up more playing time for 2025 and 2026 draft picks Malachi Moore and VJ Payne. At this point in the season, the Jets should be trying to get some players who could actually have a future in New York on the field as much as possible.

Tier 2: If the price is right

CB Brandon Stephens

If a team is looking for a higher-floor cornerback over the previously mentioned Wright, Brandon Stephens would be a good target. Despite being panned when initially signed, Stephens has been a solid cover cornerback for the Jets. His Pro Football Focus coverage grade of 68.5 ranks 23rd-best in the league.

Trading away Stephens would leave the Jets pretty thin at cornerback, particularly on the boundary. It could force D'Angelo Ponds into an outside corner role, or even make Wright a key piece to finish the season. Regardless, if a team offers an early Day 3 pick for the Baltimore Ravens draft pick, Mougey should consider it.

LB Jamien Sherwood

Jamien Sherwood, through the first year of his three-year, $45 million contract, was rather disappointing. But after a rough start to 2026, the former safety-turned-linebacker has turned his game around.

He has one year remaining on his contract heading into 2027, and the Jets may be interested in selling him off while his value is at its highest. Any team in need of an uber-athletic linebacker could look to take his salary off New York's hands for a Day 3 pick.

Edge Will McDonald IV

Probably the most popular trade candidate for the Jets dating back to the offseason has been 2023 first-round draft pick Will McDonald. He's seen his role decrease little by little since Aaron Glenn took over as head coach, due to his lack of fit within the team's scheme.

Any team looking for a pass-rush specialist should be interested in McDonald. Over the last three seasons, he's recorded 20.5 sacks and could be an instant impact player for a playoff contender. If the Jets are lucky, they could hope to net a late Day 2 pick for his services.

Tier 3: Unlikely, but hey, Sauce Gardner got dealt last year

RB Breece Hall

Breece Hall is an unlikely trade candidate, but the team was listening to offers for him last year, and it's not far-fetched to consider that they would do the same this year. With the way Braelon Allen has been playing the last few weeks as the Jets' starting running back, New York may be ready to hand him the full-time job.

Mougey was holding out hopes for a third-round draft pick at last year's deadline, and the best offer he reportedly got was a fourth-round pick from the Kansas City Chiefs. If a team looking for some juice at running back offers up that third-rounder, New York may end up pulling the trigger.

WR Garrett Wilson

Before Jets fans form a mob in protest of Garrett Wilson's name being listed here, just remember the team wasn't shopping Sauce Gardner in 2025 before the Indianapolis Colts came knocking with an offer the team couldn't refuse.

If some team comes to the Jets with the Godfather package for Wilson's services, and I'm talking multiple first-round picks with a talented young player to boot, Mougey would at least have to listen, especially if the team's WR1 is as frustrated behind the scenes as he was on the sideline this past Sunday.
