If the New York Jets decide to sell any of their veteran players for NFL Draft picks at the 2027 NFL trade deadline, one player who seems more likely to be gone with each passing week is defensive tackle Harrison Phillips.

Not only is Phillips on an expiring contract and one of the main reasons the defensive line and interior pass rush have underperformed, but a replacement is starting to emerge. Fourth-round rookie Darrell Jackson Jr. is showing signs that he could be a terrific run defender.

It should come as no surprise to the Jets if any one of these four teams decides to get Phillips on the line. If this coaching staff continues to see positive growth from Jackson, Phillips' role on the team is redundant. A few more losses, and the Jets may pivot into seller mode.

Potential New York Jets trade partners for Harrison Phillips

4. Pittsburgh Steelers

With Derrick Harmon banged up again and Cameron Heyward still quite long in the tooth, Pittsburgh could look to move some capital to improve a defensive line that could use one more veteran run-stuffer to avoid having to lean on late Day 3 picks in the rotation during a playoff push.

Phillips' veteran moxie will fit in well on a Steelers team that is gearing up for one last charge before Aaron Rodgers hangs it up.

3. Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore seems to always bring in veterans who can plug up space as a run defender, and Phillips could be next in line for an Eric DeCosta acquisition. Even if Phillips doesn't start over Travis Jones at nose tackle, he can provide excellent depth for a fragile Nnamdi Madubuike and 40-year-old Calais Campbell.

His versatility might be what makes him someone Baltimore can justify parting with a pick to acquire. Jesse Minter seems more than capable of finding a role for him.

2. Cleveland Browns

The Browns got an up-close look at Phillips in the Jets' Week 5 victory, and there's a chance that this team may have possibly come out on top if he was able to slow down Braelon Allen. Mason Graham is amazing, but he's hurt, and he can't do it alone when he's healthy.

Phillips could be the veteran mentor Graham needs as he tries to go from good to great, which could pump his price up in any sort of hypothetical trade.

1. Chicago Bears

The Bears' problems, as they pertain to breaking through in the NFC, start and end with a lack of defensive line talent. Phillips won't improve the pass rush, but a team that is missing Gervon Dexter after the trade and will assuredly pick a tackle in the upcoming NFL Draft could hold down the fort with Phillips in the short term.

Ryan "I traded a high second-round pick for Chase Claypool" Poles could be someone who overpays the Jets to secure one of his top targets.
