The New York Jets gave their fans a pleasant surprise on Monday morning when the news broke that they had re-signed right guard Joe Tippmann to a new long-term contract.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport was first to report on the terms, revealing it's a four-year deal, worth up to $66.4 million. The contract includes $34.9 million in guaranteed money.

It's a bargain contract for the Jets, and a great notch in the belt for general manager Darren Mougey, who has absolutely been on a roll this offseason. Tippmann, along with running back Breece Hall, is a key piece of New York's young foundation and figures to be a starter for the foreseeable future.

Now, every member of the Jets' young offensive core is under contract through the 2027 season. The only player in need of a new deal after this season? Quarterback Geno Smith.

Jets key offensive players under contract for the forseeable future

The Jets' offensive line was one of the few bright spots on the team in 2025, with all five starters playing fairly consistent football all season long despite subpar quarterback play behind them.

Some of the numbers aren't pretty, particularly due to Justin Fields, Tyrod Taylor, and Brady Cook all hanging onto the football for far too long, but the bright side now is that all five players are here for at least the next two seasons.

Offensive tackles Olu Fashanu and Armand Membou are, of course, on their rookie contracts, and Fashanu will be extension eligible next offseason. Regardless, Tippmann joins them with contract security until at least 2028.

At running back, Hall's extension runs through at least 2028, while backups Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis' rookie contracts run through 2027.

Superstar wide receiver Garrett Wilson's mega-extension runs through the 2030 season, of course. But Adonai Mitchell has two years remaining on his rookie deal.

If Mitchell has a big year in 2026, the Jets may look to get a proactive extension done with him in the next year, similar to what they did with Tippmann.

All this to say, the Jets have a solid foundation in place going forward, and even though the long-term outlook at quarterback remains murky, the general manager has created a friendly environment for a young quarterback, and one that's here to stay.
