The New York Jets have, by all accounts, had a really productive offseason. They've addressed some of their biggest weaknesses and retained key players at multiple positions.
However, that doesn't necessarily mean they're done making additions, and there are still some weak points on the roster that could use some depth.
The offensive line has all five of its starters locked in through at least the 2027 season, thanks to right guard Joe Tippmann's recent extension.
Despite Tippmann's new contract, the interior of the Jets' offensive line remains a relatively thin position group, and it may be in New York's best interest to add an insurance policy in case of injury.
Cut candidate Anthony Bradford could be a potential Jets target
Bleacher Report's Alex Kay made a list of five NFL players who are potential cut candidates this offseason, and Seattle Seahawks guard Anthony Bradford was a name that stuck out as a potential Jets target.
The Super Bowl champion offensive lineman would save the Seahawks roughly $3.7 million against the cap, and become one of the more experienced guard options on the market if he's released.
"The LSU product is facing several challengers for his job, including fifth-round rookie Beau Stephens and third-year veteran Christian Haynes. An injury that caused Bradford to miss a portion of OTAs in June didn't help his case to remain in the starting lineup. While Bradford has great size and strength, he's proved to be vulnerable to athletic speed rushing. He's also prone to penalties, a glaring issue in 2024 when he committed nine in just 11 games."Alex Kay
Bradford was easily the weakest link on Seattle's offensive line last season. He graded out as Pro Football Focus's 70th-ranked guard among 81 qualified players.
Maybe he's not best served as a starter at this point in his career, but as the first off the bench in an emergency situation? That sounds more his speed.
The Jets are one injury to Dylan Parham, Josh Myers, or Tippmann away from having to resort to sixth-round rookie Anez Cooper as a starter, and that sounds like a recipe for disaster.
If the Seahawks end up cutting ties with Bradford, he would be a prime target for the Jets and be a valuable depth piece that they don't currently have.
