The New York Jets will enter a crucial Week 7 matchup with the Miami Dolphins looking to capture the first divisional win of the Aaron Glenn era. And in many ways, it feels like a must-win for Glenn and co.

Glenn enters this game with an 0-7 record against AFC East foes, but the winless 0-5 Dolphins present a golden opportunity for the second-year head coach to notch his first division win and for the Jets to get their season back on track.

The Jets are fresh off a competitive 26-19 loss to the New England Patriots a week ago in a game that dropped them to 2-4 on the season. A loss to the winless Dolphins would likely go down as the worst of the Glenn era.

But the Dolphins aren't a team that should be taken lightly. Despite their 0-5 record, Miami has played competitive football and a very difficult schedule. The combined record of the Dolphins' opponents this season is 22-5, and they've lost by seven points or fewer to the undefeated Vikings and the 3-2 Bengals in consecutive weeks.

The Jets have ruled out three players for today's game: OLB Joseph Ossai (ankle), offensive tackle Max Mitchell (concussion), and linebacker Kiko Mauigoa (quad). Mauigoa was placed on the injured reserve on Saturday, with the Jets signing undrafted rookie linebacker Jaden Keller to the active roster to replace him.

Running back Breece Hall (quad), running back/kick returner Kene Nwangwu (knee), and offensive guard Dylan Parham (knee) are all listed as questionable. Hall is expected to work out with team officials before the game but is unlikely to play, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Wide receiver Adonai Mitchell (finger) is off the injury report and will make his return today after over a month on the sideline.

As for the Dolphins, backup cornerback Reese Taylor (quad) is the only Miami player ruled out. Edge rusher Rob Beal Jr. (hamstring) is doubtful, while linebacker Willie Gay (illness) is questionable after logging a limited practice on Friday.

Who are the official inactives for both the Jets and the Dolphins today? We've got you covered.

Full inactives list for New York Jets in Week 7

  • RB Breece Hall
  • OT Max Mitchell
  • CB Jarvis Brownlee Jr
  • OLB Joseph Ossai
  • OG Dylan Parham
  • DT Jack Heflin
  • KR Kene Nwangwu

Running back Breece Hall is officially inactive and will miss his fourth consecutive game due to a quad injury. Hall returned to practice as a limited participant on Thursday and Friday and entered today with a questionable designation.

The Jets will instead opt to play it safe with Hall, as Braelon Allen will lead the backfield for another week. Assuming Hall is able to log a full practice next week, he should be in line to return for the team's Week 8 game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Nickel cornerback Jarvis Brownlee Jr. is a surprise inactive. Brownlee appeared to be benched in favor of rookie D'Angelo Ponds following a coverage miscommunication last week and is now a healthy scratch. Nahshon Wright is active for the first time in nearly a month.

Ponds has struggled in a limited sample size this season, but the Jets are trusting him with an extended workload in today's game. Sink-or-swim time for the rookie second-round pick.

Left guard Dylan Parham is inactive again despite being listed as questionable to play. Parham returned as a limited participant in practice this week, but the Jets will give him a few more days before returning him to their starting lineup. Jordan Meredith will receive another start at left guard, while Kohl Levao is the only backup interior lineman.

Outside linebacker Joseph Ossai is inactive again due to an ankle injury. Ossai is also dealing with a torn ligament in his foot and has not been healthy all year. David Bailey, Kingsley Enagbare, Will McDonald, and Nate Lynn will be the team's healthy edge rushers today.

Backup running back and kick returner Kene Nwangwu is inactive due to a knee injury despite practicing in full on Friday. Expect Isaiah Williams to serve as the primary return man, with Isaiah Davis possibly filling in alongside him.

Backup offensive tackle Max Mitchell is inactive after suffering a concussion in practice this past week. The Jets have elevated second-year offensive tackle Brant Banks from their practice squad to provide further depth alongside Chukwuma Okorafor. Banks appeared in two games for the Packers last year and joined the Jets' practice squad in early September.

The Jets also elevated veteran linebacker Troy Reeder from the practice squad for today's game. Reeder will join Trevin Wallace and the recently promoted Jaden Keller as the Jets' special teams linebackers today, with Kiko Mauigoa joining Marcelino McCrary-Ball on IR.

Rookie wide receiver Caleb Douglas returns after missing over a month with an ankle injury. Gay is inactive, with rookie linebacker Kyle Louis returning from the injured reserve this week.
