The New York Jets will return home to East Rutherford following their London trip to take on the Carolina Panthers in Week 7. The Jets are still in search of their first win of the season and remain the only winless team in the NFL.

Aaron Glenn's team had a golden opportunity to pull off the upset victory against the Denver Broncos a week ago, but a horrific quarterback performance from Justin Fields and some questionable coaching ultimately prevented that from happening.

Now, they'll play host to a Panthers team that has won three of its last four games. Carolina is fresh off a 27-24 victory in which they rode the hot hand of running back Rico Dowdle for a second consecutive week.

Usual starter Chuba Hubbard is back in the lineup this week, and it remains to be seen how the Panthers will split their running back touches. Either way, it's a good problem for Carolina to have.

The Jets are expected to be without star wide receiver Garrett Wilson, who is doubtful after missing all week with a knee injury. Wilson's injury status suggests he has a chance to return next week before the Jets' bye in Week 9.

Backup linebacker Cam Jones (hip) and cornerback Qwan'tez Stiggers (hip) are also doubtful and not expected to play. The Jets elevated linebacker Jackson Sirmon and cornerback Korie Black from their practice squad to help replace them.

Nickel cornerback Michael Carter II (concussion) was downgraded to OUT on Saturday and will miss another week. Jarvis Brownlee Jr. will remain the starting slot corner in today's game.

Who are the official inactives for both the Jets and the Panthers today? We've got you covered.

  • CB Michael Carter II
  • CB Qwan'tez Stiggers

Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson is officially inactive, as expected, with a knee injury. The team's remaining healthy wide receivers consist of Josh Reynolds, Tyler Johnson, Allen Lazard, Arian Smith, and return specialist Isaiah Williams, who was re-signed to the 53-man roster last week.

Special-teams linebacker Cam Jones is inactive with a hip injury. The Jets elevated 2024 UDFA Jackson Sirmon from their practice squad, and he's expected to make his debut.

Undrafted rookie Ja'Markis Weston was also activated off IR and will make his NFL debut today. Weston impressed the Jets with his special-teams prowess in the preseason and might've made the Week 1 roster if not for his injury. Mark Robinson was released from the 53 to make room.

Cornerbacks Michael Carter (concussion) and Qwan'tez Stiggers (hip) are both inactive today. The Jets elevated Korie Black from the practice squad, and he will help replace Stiggers on special teams. Jarvis Brownlee will continue to start at nickel cornerback.

The Panthers will return a host of key players from injury in Week 7, with the likes of RB Chuba Hubbard, RT Taylor Moton, TE Ja'Tavion Sanders, and DT Tershawn Wharton all back in the starting lineup after missing the team's Week 6 game a week ago.

Starting left guard Damien Lewis is inactive after popping up with a shoulder injury in practice this week. The returning Austin Corbett could start at right guard, with Brady Christensen sliding over to left guard in Lewis' place. The Panthers could also have Corbett start at left guard.

Veteran wide receiver Hunter Renfrow is a healthy scratch for the first time this season, with Jalen Coker set to make his 2025 debut.
