The New York Jets head into Monday Night Football still searching for their first win of the Aaron Glenn era. At 0-3, the Jets badly need to stop the bleeding, and tonight’s divisional matchup with the Miami Dolphins provides a golden opportunity.

The Jets eventually need to start winning division games. They eventually need to start winning road games. And above all, they can’t afford to keep getting embarrassed on primetime. Beating Miami would check all three boxes while finally giving Glenn his first victory as head coach.

Justin Fields will return to the field after a one-week absence due to a concussion, and he’ll face off against a Dolphins defense that has looked like one of the NFL’s worst units through three weeks. This is a chance for Fields and the Jets to get right.

For Miami, the stakes might be even higher. Another loss could send an already spiraling organization further into despair, perhaps even sealing the fate of head coach Mike McDaniel. There's quietly a lot on the line for both teams tonight.

The Jets have ruled out three players for Monday night's game. Defensive end Jermaine Johnson (ankle), cornerback Jarvis Brownlee Jr. (ankle), and running back/kick returner Kene Nwangwu (hamstring) will all be inactive tonight.

An already terrible Dolphins secondary will be without cornerbacks Storm Duck (ankle) and rookie Jason Marshall Jr. (hamstring - IR) in tonight's game. Fellow cornerback Ethan Bonner is questionable with a hamstring injury, but was a full participant in Saturday's practice.

Who are the official inactives for both the Jets and the Dolphins tonight? We've got you covered.

Full inactives list for New York Jets in Week 4

  • DE Jermaine Johnson
  • CB Jarvis Brownlee Jr.
  • RB/KR Kene Nwangwu
  • WR Tyler Johnson
  • OT Esa Pole
  • TE Jelani Woods
  • DT Leonard Taylor III

The Jets will be without star edge rusher Jermaine Johnson for another week. Johnson's absence is a massive loss for a Jets defense that will once again trot out a defensive end rotation of Will McDonald, Micheal Clemons, Braiden McGregor, and Tyler Baron.

Newly-acquired cornerback Jarvis Brownlee Jr. is also inactive as he recovers from an ankle injury. Jets head coach Aaron Glenn told reporters that Brownlee is week-to-week, so it remains to be seen when he will make his Jets debut.

Kick returner Kene Nwangwu will miss his third consecutive game with a hamstring injury. Nwangwu returned to practice last week in a limited capacity, which suggests he has a strong chance of returning in Week 5.

Wide receiver Tyler Johnson is a bit of a surprise inactive for the Jets tonight. Veteran Josh Reynolds will return from a hamstring injury and play for the first time since Week 1. The Jets decide to keep Allen Lazard active over Johnson, who played 96% of his team's offensive snaps just two weeks ago.

Full inactives list for Miami Dolphins in Week 4

  • CB Storm Duck
  • CB Ethan Bonner
  • QB Quinn Ewers (emergency QB)
  • WR Tajh Washington
  • DT Zeek Biggers

The Dolphins will once again be without starting cornerback Storm Duck, as he continues to nurse an ankle injury. Miami also placed rookie nickel cornerback Jason Marshall Jr. (hamstring) on the injured reserve this weekend, leaving an already thin Dolphins cornerback room even more depleted.

Fellow cornerback Ethan Bonner is also inactive despite practicing fully on Saturday. Bonner was listed as questionable going into the game. Expect to see a lot of Jack Jones, Rasul Douglas, Cornell Armstrong, and JuJu Brents.

Veteran tight end Darren Waller is active and will make his Dolphins debut tonight. Waller missed the first three games of the season with a hip injury and will now play his first NFL game since the 2023 season.
