The New York Jets will hit the road for the second consecutive week in Florida as they face off against the divisional rival Miami Dolphins. It'll be a battle between two winless teams as Aaron Glenn and the Jets still search for their first win.
On top of trying to break out of this early-season slump that the Jets find themselves in once again, New York is also searching to end a long drought in Miami on Monday night.
Entering this primetime matchup, the Jets are losers of nine straight against the Dolphins on the road. The last time New York left Miami with a win was Week 17 of 2014.
That was Rex Ryan's last game at the helm with the Jets, and Geno Smith threw for a perfect 158.3 passer rating. Eric Decker led the way, receiving with ten receptions for 221 yards and a touchdown on that December Sunday afternoon.
To put it simply, it's been a long time coming for the green & white to finally break through on the road against the Dolphins again and pick up a win.
Aaron Glenn will look to end Jets' nine-game road losing streak against the Dolphins
It has been a very rough start for Aaron Glenn and the Jets to open up the 2025 season. After a promising performance in a loss against the Steelers in week one, the last two weeks have been ugly.
The Jets followed up that performance with a 30-10 drubbing against the division rival Buffalo Bills before sleepwalking for three quarters against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It wasn't until a late fourth-quarter comeback attempt that the Jets actually made the game close.
Entering this divisional matchup on primetime, the pressure is beginning to mount on Aaron Glenn and this coaching staff. No one is calling for Glenn to be fired, but more consistent progress and play are needed.
After battling the New York media and the "Same Old Jets" narrative following last week's loss against the Buccaneers, Glenn and the Jets need to show up on primetime.
Miami finds itself in dire straits at 0-3 with a locker room that is reeling and a head coach on the hot seat. The Jets will have opportunities on both sides of the ball to have success against a struggling Dolphins team.
With Justin Fields back in the mix, coming off a concussion, establishing the run and taking chances against a Dolphins defense that has struggled to stop the run and pass this season will be pivotal. The biggest question is whether or not the Jets' defense can get off the field.
The Jets will need a much better performance on Monday to avoid a tenth straight loss in Miami, an 0-4 start, and a winless September.
