The New York Jets may have come close to a few impressive wins at the beginning of the Aaron Glenn era, but they have unfortunately fallen to a 0-3 start after a very narrow loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road.

While a fanbase that is both angry and apathetic is demanding wins to come as soon as possible, it is clear that there are issues that need cleaning up before Glenn will be able to turn this team into a consistent winner. As for figuring out the biggest of those issues, two of them stand out above all else.

CBS Sports' Jared Dubin puts 40% of the blame for this winless start on an inability to get key stops when needed. Dubin is making sense here, as the defense's inability to lock down when needed has led to losses in very close games against both Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay.

35% of the responsibility lies on the lack of offensive weaponry outside of Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall, while the other 25% has been turning the ball over (four such turnovers in three games) at a high rate. Simply put, this roster isn't talented enough to consistently execute Glenn's vision.

Lack of defensive stops, offensive weapons are main reasons behind Jets' 0-3 start

In defense of Glenn and defensive coordinator Steve Wilks, they don't have the personnel needed to consistently get stops. Micheal Clemons, Braiden McGregor, and Tyler Baron are not NFL-caliber players, yet they make up all of the Jets' pass rush depth behind Will McDonald and Jermaine Johnson.

Sauce Gardner is having another terrific season, but free agent signing Brandon Stephens has been a tremendous disappointment. Linebacker Jamien Sherwood has regressed, and Quincy Williams will miss time with an injury. This defense has some stars, but they are incredibly top-heavy.

Wilson is on pace for around 1,300 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, which is a continuation of his excellent start to his pro career. The second-leading receiver on this team is running back Breece Hall, who is on pace for 442 yards. Mason Taylor and Arian Smith are going through rookie growing pains, while Josh Reynolds and Allen Lazard are wholly below average.

The fact that Glenn was inches away from wins against two teams many expect to be in the playoffs is certainly encouraging, but until he manages to clean up some of the issues that have plagued this roster, wins might be few and far between for this team.
