Jets' Garrett Wilson snubbed in list of league's top wide receivers

Someone get this man a quarterback.

In 2025, the New York Jets didn't have much star power, especially after the midseason trade deadline blockbusters that shipped out All-Pro defenders Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams.

The only players Jets fans could hang their hat on as a bona fide stud? Wide receiver Garrett Wilson. Despite not catching a pass after Week 6, the Ohio State product still managed to lead New York in receiving yards with 395.

Despite an atrocious quarterback situation last season, Wilson was still on pace for a great season. Heading into that Week 6 matchup against the Denver Broncos, the 2022 first-round pick was leading the AFC in both receiving yards and touchdowns, a testament to his talent and determination.

Unfortunately, and likely due to his injury, Wilson was left off a list of the NFL's best wideouts, and he should use that as motivation to fuel a comeback season in 2026.

Jets superstar Garrett Wilson left off list of NFL's top wide receivers

FanSided's Jake Beckham put together a list of the NFL's 10-best wide receivers, and Wilson, despite having just as much talent as some of the named players, was absent from the list.

If it were a list of the AFC's best receivers, Wilson almost certainly would have made the list. Only the Cincinnati Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase made the list at No. 2, and the other nine all played in the NFC.

The problem with getting the Jets' star wide receiver on these kinds of lists is his total production. He managed to crack 1,000 yards receiving in each of his first three seasons, and almost certainly would've done it in 2025 as well had it not been for the knee injury.

But Wilson's total production (315 catches, 3,644 yards, and 18 touchdowns) is impressive when you consider the context.

The former 10th overall pick managed to accumulate those stats with fairly abysmal quarterback play. Catching passes from Zach Wilson, Mike White, a washed-up Aaron Rodgers, and Justin Fields, Wilson managed to put together a decent resume.

Heading into 2026, the Jets' lone superstar has the chance to put himself back in the top-10 conversation. He has a competent quarterback throwing him the ball in Geno Smith, and a young, but talented supporting cast that should be able to get him one-on-one looks.

Hopefully, this time next year, we'll be talking about how Wilson shattered his personal bests in a dominant season.
