The NY Jets have been linked to starting tight ends like Penn State's Tyler Warren and Michigan's Colston Loveland in the lead-up to the 2025 NFL Draft, but the best way to build Aaron Glenn and Justin Fields a more complete skill position room could be making a trade for an experienced starter.

The Baltimore Ravens could be able to provide the Jets with a solid veteran alternative. Due to his playoff struggles and the emergence of Isaiah Likely, it seems like a near-foregone conclusion that Mark Andrews will have a new football home in 2025.

The Jets have largely spent free agency looking for cheap one-year depth signings, but this could be the first big trade of the new regime. Based on reports, the Ravens are trying their hardest to find a trade partner.

According to the Ravens Talk Podcast, Baltimore has been shopping Andrews, though the asking price may be just a bit too high for some. If Andrews is on his way out, it would behoove Darren Mougey to at least check on his asking price and swoop in if it ever drops to somewhere reasonable.

Jets should be in on Mark Andrews trade after latest rumors

Andrews, who holds the Ravens' all-time record with 51 receiving touchdowns, hauled in a career-best 11 scored on 673 receiving yards despite a very slow start to the season. Andrews will turn 30 in September, but he is still a productive playmaker and receiving tight ends can often age gracefully.

With a weak defensive line, a collection of wide receivers that is wholly inadequate outside of Garrett Wilson, and a hole at right tackle, the Jets may have some reservations about using the No. 7 overall pick on a tight end. That's where Andrews could come in.

Andrews could be reborn in New York, as Fields has often targeted tight ends heavily in both Chicago and Pittsburgh and new offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand is coming from the same offense that turned Sam LaPorta into a star. Baltimore has the replacement lined up, and he may need a fresh start after his AFC Divisional game nightmare.

The Jets may not be interested in trading picks for veterans after the disaster the last few years turned out to be, but the critical lack of talent in what is a make-or-break season for Fields could prompt this front office to at least take a look at what Andrews will cost in a hypothetical swap.
