Following months of drama and unnecessary uncertainty, the NY Jets have finally ended the contract holdout with star pass rusher Haason Reddick. The two sides reached an agreement on an adjusted deal Sunday morning, bringing a close to one of the most bizarre holdouts the NFL has ever seen.

Reddick, the Jets' most high-profile offseason addition, had been absent from team activities as he sought a long-term extension. He never ended up receiving that extension, but the Jets were able to work out a compromise with Reddick's new agent, Drew Rosenhaus.

Reddick was dropped by his former agency, CAA, after months of financial malpractice that cost him over $12 million worth of fines. His new deal will allow him the opportunity to recoup some of that money with incentives, but he won't be able to make up the six game checks he missed.

Still, the Jets are a better football team with Reddick on their roster. He should provide an instant boost to a Jets defense that is desperate for defensive line help, but how instant of an impact are we talking about here? When will Reddick make his Jets debut?

Is Haason Reddick playing tonight?

Although the Jets did reach an agreement with Reddick earlier this morning, the two-time Pro Bowler is not available to play in tonight's Week 7 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football.

Reddick was not in attendance for minicamp or training camp and will need at least a week of a ramp-up period before he's able to play in a regular-season game. The Jets have not added Reddick to their 53-man roster ahead of Sunday night's game.

It's possible Reddick will be activated and eligible to make his return as soon as the Jets' Week 8 game against the New England Patriots. The Jets have every incentive to insert Reddick into their lineup as quickly as possible.

The Jets' defensive line has struggled mightily through the first six weeks of the season, especially following Jermaine Johnson's season-ending torn Achilles. Reddick would instantly give the Jets their best edge rusher, bolstering a lackluster pass rush.

The Haason Reddick saga has finally come to an end, but Jets fans will need to wait at least one more week to see the debut of their team's prized offseason addition.
