The Haason Reddick situation took another bizarre turn last week when the NY Jets' star pass rusher was reportedly dropped by his agency, CAA. Reddick has racked up nearly $10 million in fines and seems unlikely to report at any time in the near future.

Rumors speculated about why exactly Reddick was dropped by his agency, and it seems as though we have an answer. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday that CAA pushed for Reddick to end his hold out, only for the former All-Pro to back out at the last moment.

The Jets and CAA had reportedly agreed to terms on a reworked one-year contract that would have given Reddick the opportunity to make up for the fines and make more money than he was originally scheduled to earn.

It was believed to be the perfect compromise. Reddick refused to sign the deal. He was dropped by CAA shortly after and has since essentially gone rogue. Where this situation goes from here is anyone's guess. What a disaster.

Jamien Sherwood could be benched for C.J. Mosley

Jets defensive captain C.J. Mosley has been sidelined since Week 2 with a toe injury but seems to be nearing a return. Mosley is listed as questionable for tonight's game against the Buffalo Bills and the assumption is that he will be available.

The five-time Pro Bowler was a limited participant in practice all week and interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich told reporters last week that the team was "hopeful" he could play on Monday night.

This presents the Jets with a bit of a dilemma, as Jamien Sherwood has been outstanding in Mosley's absence. Sherwood is currently Pro Football Focus's second-highest-graded linebacker in the NFL behind only Fred Warner.

ESPN's Rich Cimini speculated on Sunday that Sherwood will probably "go back to his role as the LB3" upon Mosley's return. Mosley is still playing at a high level (despite what some fans might think), but it doesn't feel right to bench Sherwood given how well he's been playing. It's a good problem to have.

Jets hope to make history tonight

The Jets are coming off one of the most chaotic weeks in recent franchise history following the unexpected departure of head coach Robert Saleh. But amidst the chaos, the Jets find themselves with a golden opportunity tonight.

The Jets enter tonight's game with a chance to secure first place in the AFC East if they manage to defeat the Bills on Monday Night Football. It's safe to say that would be an unfamiliar position for Gang Green.

In fact, the Jets have not been in first place in their division at any point beyond the month of September since Week 12 of the 2010 season when the team was tied for the division lead with the 9-2 New England Patriots.

Jets running back Braelon Allen was six years old while Aaron Rodgers was in just his third year as a starting quarterback. Yes, it's been that long.
