The NY Jets enter their Week 8 game against the New England Patriots with their season hopes essentially hanging in the balance. The Jets traded for Davante Adams, resolved the Haason Reddick situation, and still sit at 2-5 through seven weeks.

It's been a wholly disappointing season for the Jets, who entered the year with legitimate Super Bowl aspirations. Now, they're looking to defy the odds and make a late run at the postseason.

They'll have to start winning games before that becomes a real possibility, however. The Jets have lost four consecutive games, with their most recent coming in a 37-15 blowout at the hands of the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football.

Fortunately for the Jets, their Week 8 opponents just so happen to be the most recent team they've beaten. The Patriots offer a chance for the Jets to get their season back on track with a win today.

But will they have Reddick to help them out? Is the former All-Pro pass rusher finally set to make his Jets debut?

Is Haason Reddick playing today?

Yes, at long last Reddick will make his Jets debut in today's Week 8 matchup against the Patriots. Reddick was officially added to the 53-man roster on Saturday, as the Jets released veteran Takk McKinley in a corresponding move.

The two-time Pro Bowler held out through training camp and the preseason, ultimately missing the first seven games of the season in what might go down as one of the most misguided holdouts in NFL history.

Reddick was dropped by his former agency, CAA, after reportedly backing out of a deal that would have seen him find common ground with the Jets weeks ago. Instead, he dug in further, maintaining that he wanted to receive a long-term extension.

That extension never came, as neither the Jets nor any other team in the NFL was interested in giving Reddick a long-term deal, especially after his antics this year. That forced Reddick to eventually cave at the behest of his new agent, Drew Rosenhaus.

Reddick lost out on over $10 million in fines and ultimately signed a deal similar to the one the Jets were offering before the season began. Nevertheless, the Jets have their star pass rusher back in the building, and he will suit up for today's game.

How motivated will Reddick be at this stage? What kind of shape is he in? Will it even matter for a Jets team whose issues extend well beyond just one player? There's only one way to find out.
