The NY Jets will be in the market for a new quarterback this offseason after making the decision to move on from Aaron Rodgers. One avenue the Jets could explore is the 2025 NFL Draft.

This year's draft is not especially loaded with highly-touted quarterbacks, but there are a couple of prospects — notably Miami's Cam Ward and Colorado's Shedeur Sanders — that are expected to be selected in the top 10.

Ward represents an intriguing trade-up option for a Jets team that is starved for upside at the quarterback position. While Ward remains a work in progress, he has the traits to develop into a star quarterback at the next level.

But it takes two to tango. If the Jets are genuinely interested in moving up to draft Ward, they're going to need another team to play ball. It just so happens that they might have the perfect trade partner.

The NY Jets could use the Browns as a trade partner to move up and draft Cam Ward

NFL insider Josina Anderson put together an extensive report on the state of the Jets' organization on Monday, detailing everything from Aaron Rodgers' departure to Aaron Glenn's first days with the team.

One interesting detail she shared was that the Jets might move up to select a quarterback. According to Anderson, the Cleveland Browns appear to be the most likely team to entertain trade-down opportunities.

Anderson explained that of the teams projected to select in the top five, the Browns are "the most willing to listen" to offers. If the Jets "have a player they think will turn the franchise around" — for example, Ward — the Browns would be the team to call.

Cleveland could also be in the market for a quarterback this offseason, but early expectations are that the team will not seek their long-term solution in the draft. The Browns could instead look to sign or trade for a quarterback prior to April.

That means if the Tennessee Titans also pass on selecting a quarterback first overall, the price to move up to the No. 2 pick could be hefty, especially with the QB-needy New York Giants lurking at No. 3.

Would the Jets be willing to pay that price for a quarterback like Ward? That much remains to be seen, but preliminary indications are that the team is unlikely to use significant draft capital on a quarterback in this year's class.

If the Jets do decide they want to move up, however, there appears to be one obvious team to call. The Browns are open for business.
