Despite already having three first-round picks in the 2027 NFL Draft, the New York Jets find themselves in seller territory after Aaron Glenn and the coaches have bungled their way out of two wins.

At 2-6, the Jets have been the subject of many hypothetical trades from teams who want to raid New York's roster. ESPN's collection of insiders have tried their best to cut through the noise and try to identify some moves that would make sense for both the Jets and the buying party.

The results were...well, let's charitably call them mixed. As is often the case when examining the Jets' roster, some proposals often include New York picking up a few inconsequential NFL Draft picks while parting with some elite talents.

Grading ESPN's proposed New York Jets trades ahead of deadline

Adonai Mitchell to 49ers

With 49ers fans seemingly accepting that their collective Garrett Wilson psychosis was hazardous to their health, Mitchell is the new name Seth Walder threw up on the proverbial grill. Barring an offer that is such a ridiculous overpay that Darren Mougey would be stupid not to take it, the Jets will hold on to a player who is starting to come into his own as an electric No. 2 wide receiver the team can lean on in the future.

Grade: D-

Kingsley Enagbare to Cowboys

The fact that Enagbare has been the best non-David Bailey pass rusher on the Jets is another test of one's general pessimism. Is that due to everyone else around him stinking, or Enagbare himself showing solid hustle and explosiveness? Either way, the pass rush would go from bad to non-functional without him and with a banged-up Bailey. Dallas has overpaid before, but unless it happens again, why bother with Aaron Schatz's idea?

Grade: C

Isaiah Davis to Eagles

Davis was completely shut out of the offensive game plan with both Breece Hall and Braelon Allen healthy, and he could return to that role despite his skills as a pass catcher and blocker. The Joe Douglas draftee has been an efficient runner, and the Jets would be worse without him. However, the Eagles are desperate for depth, and it seems unlikely that the Jets will keep all three backs in 2027. Walder might be on to something.

Grade: B

Andre Cisco to Panthers, Lathan Ransom to Jets

This is one step below rearranging deck chairs, as the Jets would be swapping an older No. 3 safety for a younger No. 3 safety. Ransom, a former fourth-round pick who has started eight games in two years with Carolina, grades out as a much worse run defender than the PFF No. 15-ranked Cisco, but he is slightly better in coverage.

Minkah Fitzpatrick has been about as good as expected, and Dane Belton has been great despite cooling off lately. Swapping a veteran for a younger player performing about equally well may not be a very consequential move, but a rebuilding team getting someone with some upside may not be an outrageous suggestion.
