What a grab!

Just when it looked like the NY Jets were truly dead and buried after a horrid 2-6 start to the season and painful beginning to their Thursday Night Football matchup against the Houston Texans, Garrett Wilson was able to wake everyone up with the greatest catch anyone has made or will make all season long.

With Aaron Rodgers and the offense marching down the field after amassing just 32 passing yards in the first half, Rodgers connected with Wilson on a third-and-19 touchdown pass. The grab not only put the Jets up 14-10 after being confirmed by instant replay, but Wilson managed to pull the ball down in splendid fashion.

Wilson leaped up, imitating the Air Jordan logo as his legs splayed out to the side, caught the ball with one hand, and managed to get one leg in bounds before his shin followed. The Jets would take a lead just a few plays after Davante Adams was sent to the locker room to test for a concussion.

Wilson has had his fair share of lowlights this season, especially after his bobbled ball that turned into an interception in a loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Making catches like that shows exactly why the Jets are continuing to lean on him despite some of the ups and downs.

Wilson stepping up against a very talented Texans secondary right after Adams was taken out of the game says a ton about Wilson's competitive fire. Plays like that will help him get in sync with Aaron Rodgers, which is needed if this team is to have any shot at becoming a winner this year.

This was Wilson's second touchdown of the game, as his first was another one-handed grab on a crossing route followed by a scamper into the end zone. At least he held onto the ball, unlike Malachi Corley.

The Jets are not a very good football team, but they have a few individually excellent players. Wilson stepping up in a primetime game could be what helps wake the Jets up in their push to make it to the playoffs against all odds.
