Davante Adams Injury Update: NY Jets star WR exits after hard hit
By Justin Fried
NY Jets wide receiver Davante Adams is in the middle of his best game since joining the team a few weeks ago, but in typical Jets fashion, everything that can go wrong will go wrong.
Adams hauled in his sixth catch of the game late in the third quarter, bringing his total to 54 receiving yards on the day. The six-time Pro Bowler toasted a defender off the line of scrimmage and hauled in a crucial fourth-down catch, only to take a hard hit at the end of the play.
Adams was down on the sideline being tended to by trainers for a few seconds before walking off under his own power. He was later seen walking to the blue medical tent and is reporting being evaluated by an independent neurologist.
That would seem to suggest Adams is being checked for a concussion, making his return to the game questionable. The Jets are already without wide receiver Allen Lazard, who was placed on the IR earlier today.

Adams was later seen walking to the locker room after leaving the blue medical tent. The Jets have indicated that Adams is being evaluated with a concussion in the locker room.
The Jets are already thin at receiver with Lazard on the injured reserve. With Adams out, the Jets are down to Garrett Wilson, Mike Williams, Xavier Gipson, Irvin Charles, and rookie Malachi Corley, whose boneheaded fumble in the first half drew the ire of the coaching staff.
The Jets traded a conditional third-round pick to the Las Vegas Raiders for Adams earlier this month. Adams had recorded just seven catches for 84 yards in his two games with the Jets entering Week 9.
*UPDATE: Davante Adams has returned to the game with roughly six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter*
