Breece Hall 'felt something' before exiting Lions loss late with injury

The New York Jets may have caught a case of the injury bug. They went into Week 3's matchup with the Detroit Lions short-handed, missing key starters such as safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, defensive lineman David Onyemata, and wide receiver Adonai Mitchell.

It somehow managed to get worse during the game, as the Jets lost Dylan Parham to a knee injury. He was quickly ruled out and carted to the locker room.

To make matters worse, Breece Hall took a major hit in the fourth quarter and exited the game with a thigh injury. Braelon Allen finished the game as the Jets' lead back.

We don't have any specific information on Hall's injury, other than it being called a thigh ailment. But his postgame comments should spark concern for Jets fans.

Speaking with reporters in the visitors' locker room at Ford Field, Hall had his hood up and didn't sound like someone who was encouraged by how his body was feeling when asked about his late injury.

"I don't know yet. I felt something when I was running, and then got tackled and planted, and then felt something else, so we'll see."

When asked if he'll get imaging on Monday morning, Hall said he didn't know. For now, all fans can do is wonder about the severity of the injury and whether it will force the star running back to miss any time.

Before Hall's exit, it wasn't exactly his most productive outing. He had picked up right where he left off in Week 2 against the Green Bay Packers, carrying the ball 13 times for 32 yards, an average of 2.5 yards per carry.

New York's ground game has left a lot to be desired over their last two outings, and if Hall misses any time, it should only get worse.

New York Jets will need contributions from Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis

If Hall is going to miss any time, it's going to be the Allen and Isaiah Davis show for the foreseeable future.

Allen has been okay through three games, carrying the ball 19 times for 51 yards and a touchdown, but it's unclear if he's ready to handle the full workload.

Davis has yet to play an offensive snap for the Jets in 2026, but he may be the primary Hall replacement thanks to his somewhat similar skill set.

Again, we'll need to wait and see what's going on with Hall before any other observations are made about the Jets' ground game.
