Dylan Parham injury update as Jets OL leaves Week 3 game with knee injury

New York Jets left guard Dylan Parham, who has been one of their best performers in the first few games of the 2026 season, left the team's Week 3 matchup against the Detroit Lions in the third quarter with what was ruled a knee injury.

The team wasted almost no time in confirming that Parham, who signed a two-year contract in the offseason after spending the early parts of his career with the Las Vegas Raiders, was ruled out for the rest of Week 3. Considering how quickly this decision was made, Jets fans are understandably going to be filled with dread and uncertainty in the coming hours.

After last season's offensive line was given a clean bill of health in service of a 3-14 team that was lucky to win as many games as they did, Parham possibly missing some time could be a major body blow to this unit, especially after he was playing some of the best football of his career.

Parham signed a two-year, $16 million contract to replace John Simpson at left guard, and the results have been exemplary. Parham's 92.8 overall grade and 92.5 run-blocking grade rank first among all qualified guards in the league in the eyes of Pro Football Focus.

Parham appeared to be one of the best value signings so far in Darren Mougey's professional career, as he has provided elite performance for fringe-starter money. Losing Parham when he was in the middle of such a hot streak makes the pain of this injury sting even more.

Dylan Parham will not be easily replaced by the New York Jets

Jordan Meredith is the most logical option to replace Parham, as another former Raider has years of experience and has looked solid at left guard in the past. Besides Meredith, the Jets do not have another interior offensive lineman on the 53-man roster.

Kohl Levao is on the practice squad. Rookie Anez Cooper has plenty of power, but he has only played right guard throughout his college career. With Olu Fashanu struggling in the Detroit game, the left side of the offensive line is suddenly a huge question mark.

The Jets would love nothing more than for Parham to come back with a clean bill of health, as it would keep their offensive line, perhaps their most cohesive unit, together.
