Breece Hall in contact with former Frank Reich pupil to get a grasp on his new OC

Despite boasting the same head coach and general manager combination for the second consecutive season, the New York Jets are still facing some wide-scale changes heading into 2026.

Set aside the sweeping roster changes for a moment, such as the three first-round draft picks and a variety of veteran additions in free agency, and the Jets' coaching staff is almost entirely brand new as well.

Aaron Glenn cut ties with a good majority of the initial coaching staff he brought with him to 1 Jets Drive, and now has two new coordinators helping him run the offense and assisting with the defense.

While he'll call the plays for New York's defense, Glenn is entrusting veteran NFL coach Frank Reich to handle the offense, and running back Breece Hall took matters into his own hands to learn more about what the former head coach looks for from his players.

Speaking with reporters after a training camp practice, Hall revealed he reached out to Indianapolis Colts star Jonathan Taylor to ask about what it's like playing for Reich.

"He was just telling me the way Frank (Reich) calls plays and the way he's very easy to play behind Frank. Frank's a very chill and cool dude, but he definitely wants you to, you know, execute and do what he's telling you to do. But yeah, he just essentially said he's very easy to play for. He makes you play harder for him because of how good of a person he is, how good of a coach he is, how he's a player's coach, and how he rides for his guys."

Hall is wise for reaching out to Taylor. The Colts running back had some of the best years of his career playing for Reich, and you can certainly credit the former quarterback's offense for some of that production.

Taylor's best season was easily his 2021 campaign, when he ran for 1,811 rushing yards, 18 touchdowns and earned first-team All-Pro honors.

It's not a guarantee that Hall will be able to match those numbers, but you can at least be sure Reich knows how to get a good running back going.

Hall has every tool at his disposal for his own career-best campaign, and it's up to him to reach whatever lofty goals he sets for himself.
