Aaron Rodgers throws his HC under the bus after another NY Jets loss

Aaron Rodgers and the NY Jets had multiple opportunities to shut the door on a potential comeback in their disastrous Week 11 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, none more notable than after the team scored a fourth-quarter touchdown to take a 24-16 lead.

The Jets had an opportunity to attempt a two-point conversion which, if successful, would have put the team up by two scores. Instead, interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich elected to attempt the extra point, putting the trust in his defense. That proved to be the wrong decision.

The Colts would go on to score not one but two touchdowns over the final 10 minutes of the game, allowing Indianapolis to secure a 28-27 win. Rodgers was asked about the decision after the game, and he didn't seem to agree with Ulbrich's choice.

Rodgers told reporters that he usually prefers to go for two in that situation and that he was under the impression that the Jets would, apparently based on a conversation he had with Ulbrich before the drive. The four-time MVP insisted he was confused when Ulbrich signaled for an extra point after the score.

"I like going for two in that situation when you're down seven and can go up nine. The reason I was thinking is because we had a conversation on the sideline and I was under the impression the decision was before the drive, we were going to go for two. I looked over and it looked like they were holding up one. I was a little confused because I thought we talked about going for two."

Aaron Rodgers subtly calls out NY Jets HC Jeff Ulbrich for late-game decision

Ultimately, the Jets' decision to stick with the one-score lead can be partially blamed for the loss, especially seeing as though the team only lost by one point.

Of course, the Jets gave up two touchdown drives regardless, but there's no telling how the game would've turned out had the Jets gone with Rodgers' preferred route.

This isn't the first time Rodgers has thrown a member of his team under the bus this season. The future Hall of Famer has made a career out of shifting blame, previously calling out wide receiver Mike Williams for a game-sealing interception last month.

Williams was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers a few weeks later and would get some semblance of revenge on his former quarterback, taking a light-hearted shot at him on social media after catching the game-winning touchdown in his Steelers debut.

This is the first time this season Rodgers has openly criticized a decision made by one of his coaches, however. Clearly there was a miscommunication between Rodgers and Ulbrich.

Perhaps the outcome of Sunday's game is different if the Jets listen to Rodgers. Or perhaps it wouldn't matter anyway. Either way, Rodgers made sure to voice his displeasure after the game.
