Excitement is building at One Jets Drive as the NY Jets are set to usher in a new era with Aaron Glenn as their head coach. Fans are optimistic, analysts are bullish on the hire, and even Jets players are upbeat about the organization's future.

The former Jets Pro Bowl cornerback returns to the organization, this time as head coach, with the same goal he pursued during his successful tenure in Detroit: revitalizing a long-suffering franchise.

Glenn's arrival has already been met with rave reviews. The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt reported Tuesday morning, prior to the hire, that "there are many Jets players who have privately expressed excitement" about the possibility of landing Glenn.

Rosenblatt insisted that a Glenn hire would be "received well in the locker room." This seems to align with public comments from a few notable Jets players.

NY Jets players are excited to have Aaron Glenn as their new head coach

All-Pro defensive tackle Quinnen Williams became the first Jets player to publicly endorse Glenn when he replied to an Instagram post about the former Lions DC's official interview earlier this month.

Williams isn't alone. Jets defensive end Jermaine Johnson also made it clear that he wanted Glenn to be the Jets head coach on social media last week. Jets players haven't been secretive about their head coach preference.

Glenn is widely regarded as a "players coach" and is held in high regard around the NFL. He's known for his ability to connect with players, inspire confidence, and foster a culture of accountability and growth.

That's exactly what the Jets were looking for in their head coach search this offseason. Jets owner Woody Johnson wanted to hire a CEO-style leader of a coach who could help transform a rotten culture and bring a fresh sense of energy to the organization.

With Aaron Glenn, the Jets believe they’ve found a coach who embodies those qualities and can lay the foundation for a long-awaited turnaround. The players certainly seem to agree.
