No, Garrett is not going anywhere.

After he did not practice on Wednesday and Thursday, it felt like Garrett Wilson was trending in the wrong direction for Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs, and Aaron Glenn confirmed as much on Friday when he ruled out the star wide receiver.

Glenn also ruled out linebacker Trevin Wallace, who did not participate in Thursday's practice with a groin injury. Harrison Phillips, who has been out the last two days with an ankle injury, will practice on Friday with a shot at suiting up against the Chiefs. He'll be questionable.

Finally, Glenn confirmed what we knew on Thursday night, saying running back Breece Hall will make his return to the lineup after missing the last five games. It will be interesting to see how the Jets split the workload between him and Braelon Allen.

Regardless, the Jets offense is suffering a massive blow without Wilson in the mix, but they're better prepared to deal with an injury like this to the wide receiver position than they were earlier in the season.

Just because Garrett Wilson is out doesn't mean New York Jets are trading him

Since Wilson's concussion popped up on the injury report on Wednesday, some of the internet's "brightest" minds have done their best to connect the dots to a trade with their favorite teams. Chiefs fan Faress Berhe floated as much on his X account on Thursday.

To all of the Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers, and Chiefs fans out there who are hoping Wilson's injury isn't real, and they're just holding him out for trade purposes, I regret to inform you that you couldn't be more wrong.

Wilson is genuinely concussed. He took an illegal shot to the head against the Las Vegas Raiders this past Sunday, when Jeremy Chinn put his helmet in his facemask on one of the last plays of the game. Chinn was flagged for unnecessary roughness on the play.

Wilson likely needed to be pulled from the game right there and then, but somehow, none of the upstairs independent spotters thought the hit was big enough for a concussion check.

Regardless, let Wilson rest up. If New York has any hope of somehow turning this season around, it starts with him. Let Adonai Mitchell and Omar Cooper Jr. fill in for the usual superstar in Kansas City.

It should be a good opportunity to see what either of them has without Wilson in the mix.
