Aaron Glenn keeps committing malpractice by ignoring blatant Jets liability

Where is the accountability?

The New York Jets suffered another pathetic loss in Week 4 as the team fell to the Miami Dolphins 27-21 on Monday Night Football. It was another primetime game where the Jets embarrassed themselves on national television.

It was more of the same for New York as the team committed 13 penalties for 101 yards while adding three turnovers to the mix. It was also another dreadful night for the defense, which had multiple missed tackles, lapses in coverage, and generated no pressure on Tua Tagovailoa.

Unfortunately for the Jets, it's been the same players on the defensive side of the football making the same mistakes in all four games. This is the case with safety Tony Adams, who was dreadful last night, as he has been dreadful all season.

Aaron Glenn can't continue to preach accountability while allowing a player like Tony Adams to continue starting on this football team.

Tony Adams should be benched following Jets' Week 4 loss

Monday night was another disastrous performance from Tony Adams in a season that has been full of them so far. Adams finished the game with a 40.7 Pro Football Focus run defense grade and a 29.6 tackling grade. Both are his lowest marks of this season.

When looking at Adams' entire body of work in three games played this season, it only gets uglier. Adams' 48.4 PFF grade is the worst among Jets safeties and the second worst out of all defensive starters, only behind the struggling Michael Carter II.

The Illinois product also ranks third-worst among qualified safeties in stopping the run with a 45.6 run defense grade. His tackling issues are highlighted by his glaringly bad 21.1% missed tackle rate.

It isn't just the run defense and tackling that have plagued Adams and this Jets team this season; it's also his struggles in coverage. The fourth year safety has registered a 53.6 coverage grade, which is nothing to write home about.

Tony Adams was a cool UDFA story whose magic and production have completely run out. There is no reason for Tony Adams to be playing 100% of the defensive snaps like he did against Miami moving forward this season.

With a rookie in Malachi Moore sitting behind Tony Adams, the time is now to make a change. Adams' poor play and Moore's flashes in his start in place of the injured Adams against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are just two of the many reasons to make a change.

Sitting at 0-4 after an embarrassing winless September, it is time for the Jets to start making changes. Tony Adams isn't going to get any better; he is who he is. Moore, a rookie, deserves the opportunity to showcase his abilities and develop for the future.
